Eager to hear names for OL, but this is sounding good so far. Wondering what coach will have to double up on positions. Hoping it is OC coaching a position group, so we can have a dedicated ST coach after the disaster last season.

Coley on this staff contradicts everything Diaz stated he wanted us to be, as far as our offensive identity.
He doesn't run the spread, and his crap sure as **** isn't up-tempo, fast, or "violent".

Nothing "exciting" about it, and it sure as **** ain't a "shot in the arm".
More like a "shot to the head".

Right! Just like he cleaned up the last time he was here? Nah

This. There's a fallacy of building a recruiting staff. Doesn't matter if the staff is full of recruiters, we will still lose divas to bags. Period. Then, striking out gets compounded by losing on the field. We need to field a competent offense and win on the field.

Why did we give up Dugans for Cooney, Lamar Thomas or Kevin Beard at Wide receivers coach?????

From reports, Dugans was losing the room. He clashed with JT4 (though there were other issues there as well), was being criticized for his playing rotation, and can you say anyone in that room got better this year outside of JT4 who's a freakish athlete?

Dugans seems like a good dude, developing into a helluva recruiter, but I think in the end, it's the right move to part ways at this point.

How does what I wrote differ from what Hockman said and just say it already or are you a bottomless bit of futility? Why are you so concerned about semantics is this your full time job? Moonlighting at The Hecht rumor control hotline?

First of all, it was the Joe Rose show not Hockman. I think it’s a big deal and not semantics when someone says that WQAM just stated these coaches were let go can anyone confirm. It was clearly fake news from you.

Listening comprehension and sentence structure matters to me. It clearly doesn’t matter to you. There may be some on here that want accurate information. My post was for them so feel free to ignore.

I’ve seen multiple posters on Twitter say the same thing.

How is it starting to sound like a swing and miss ? Because fans have made assumption after assumption ? The name Fedora hasn’t even come out of Manny mouth but because he hasn’t been announced yet it’s starting to look like a miss ? LOL
I agree with you, in the fact that it's hard to get "swing and miss" from then write up. However, Fedora would never come out of Manny's mouth until he is announced. Coaches don't typically speak the names of potential hires before they are actually introduced.

Assuming for the sake of my post that Rumph stays on staff, that gives us 5 spots left for on-field coaches, correct? Our defensive staff is Banda, Patke, Simpson, and Rumph. Diaz CEO.

We need to have someone @ OC, QB, RB, WR, TE, OL, and Special Teams.

Let's say Fedora agrees to come as OC. I'm assuming he won't coach a position group.

Only way I'm OK with bringing Coley back is as QB coach - I feel like he did a decent job at developing QB's and his recruiting ability has been discussed on this forum like crazy. Say he comes as QB coach / Passing Game Coordinator. I'm OK with that - are you? If no, I'm assuming Ponce or Ken Dorsey would pick up the phone. At this point Dorsey isn't just a former Cane to throw on the sidelines, he's a seasoned coaching professional. I think it would be wise to at least have a chat with him. It just makes a lot of sense.

I love the idea of bringing Seider in to coach running backs. That's a home run, even if only for recruiting benefit. But his RB's produce as well, and he was groomed by Holgerson (muahahaha).

So that leaves us two coaches to lead the WR, TE, OL, and Special Teams groups. Plus there was talk of a dedicated DC which IMO would be a VERY wise move. Unless Diaz really feels Banda is ready...but can he take that chance?

Perhaps you have a WR/TE and OL/TE coach combo, and bring in a guy solely dedicated to special teams?

Or you bring in a DC, have WR/TE and/or OL/TE, and Special Teams is assigned to one of our existing staff guys?

What are your thoughts on piecing together this puzzle? Who should we be going after for WR coach? Is Fedora tied to his own guys in these capacities?

I'm assuming we're not going to be limited by money, so Manny may as well go after the best of the best.
But, if he does keep Banda as DC, and it doesn't work out, he can resume calling the plays, til he can hire someone else. That's one way of giving Banda a shot while still having a fall back plan.

Fedora OC, Ponce QBC, Seider RBC = more than a splash, that would be a fricking tidal wave. Make it so, Manny, make it so. This would tell me the U is serious about winning football games.

Please, God, let us have nice things.

PS-the defensive side can wait, for now, but once the O is settled, we need a DC that is less green than Patke/Banda as well.
