Both of these athletes have the same stride and speed. I believe Coley although younger is more polished as a wide receiver. Due to his youth needs 10-15 pounds of muscle to be another Andre Johnson. :neonu:

AJ comparison would never come together.

Not more polished, yet. Hands have to become more consistent. Other than the aforementioned, I agree. The bubble screen made think Sammy.

I don't see dreJ. Coley seems more fluid while dre was a bigger dude even as a frosh. I will take the Watkins comp.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a big homer and I know Coley will be a stud. but let's see him make some plays before announcing him as basically the best receiver in the country. Watkins is a freak and head and shoulders above not only Coley but almost every other receiver in the nation at this point. Coley could very well be in that discussion one day but this is way too premature seeing as his only solid game performance is coming against the worst football team ever assembled. Watkins had 1200 yards as a Freshman and is much more physical than Coley at this point. Coley may run clean routes, but I don't see how there is anyway he is more "polished" than Watkins who is a sure fire 1st rounder

Why in the world do posters say these things?

Coley has done nothing: zip, zilch, nada. The kid is in the middle of getting over his nerves and trying to get himself mentally prepared for the college game.

Now, like magic, he's Sammy Watkins who's proven himself under fire for quite a while now.

Is it some oddity of the youth mentality today that assumes that by simply showing up - awards and accolades should be bestowed upon someone?

Stop already.

Not as strong or big like Watkins in terms of muscle mass. He is just as explosive if not more explosive and he is more agile and has crazy balance. He will make more acrobatic catches.

Anyone who thinks he can't be at least as good as Watkins is doped up. I don't think guys understand just how special he is because he dropped a couple passes.

It was quite obvious he was comparing the style of the 2 players, not the production. And it's a great comparison. They have a very similar skillset, style, and build. Whether he produces like Watkins is yet to be seen, but he's obviously extremely talented and I certainly wouldn't bet against him becoming a stud WR.

I don't know how to describe it, but watching Stacy Coley run is like watching Ken Griffey JR swing. Everything about him (besides catching the ball cleanly so far, which I'm not concerned about) is so natural and effortless.

Agreed. Coley's explosion in and out of his breaks, plus his acceleration, is something UM hasn't had in almost a decade. It's VERY rare to find WR's who can explode in and out of cuts like him. He's going to destroy college. And you know he's a competitor, too.

Watching his tape from high school, the curing of the drops are only a matter of time. He's a natural pass catcher. Those drops and bobbles are simply nerves. I don't think I've ever seen a tall receiver like him be so twitchy. He reminds me of Hawkins from the Bengals, except that guy is like 5'7" and Stacy is 6'1". Outstanding acceleration and with a whole offseason to get stronger and more in tune with the QB's, he'll one of the best in CFB next year.

can be as good, but not the same player. Sammys much more physical than I foresee Coley ever being, hope Im wrong

Great analogy and I totally agree. Doesn't look like he's even trying out there. The hands will come around, kis has some serious talent.

He's comparing their playing styles, not accolades, you bitter old ****.

Cram another hard candy into your wrinkled face and wait for death.
