Official Springs Games....CANCELLED

We can dammm sure try
"Sources say Joshua Moore looks physically mature and extremely athletic. By all accounts, they think he's a candidate for Freshman AA this year. They say you can almost envision him out there mossing kids in the spring game if there were a game. In fact, if you think hard enough....he actually just took a slant 80 yards while carrying walk-on safety, Chad Blake, on his back."

They'll just hold closed scrimmages and we'll get some leaks out of them like:

"[Insert Player Name who's never done a ******* thing here] looked really solid in today's scrimmage. 3 catches for 63 yards against a solid [third-team] defense. Looks like he's finally turning the corner [he's not]."

"[Insert unit that has been dog**** under Mario] has drastically improved from last year. [Insert new coach name] has really brought something different to this unit this spring."

"[Fourth Year Eternal Green Tree All American Feel Good Story] looks like he's finally turning the corner. Better late than never. He can be a major contributor on [defense/offense] and expect to see him flash early [he will against Bethune, make a one insane nasty play, and disappear for the rest of the season]."

These kids are sending out their practice film to teams, this isn’t going to slow any of the tampering down

You're probably right.
But what traditionally was a late spring gathering of fans, alums and boosters to enjoy a
little off-season football for the locals, has become a football combine for other programs.
I don't blame the coaches at all.

Whether they see a WR cooking a backup CB in 50 practice reps or 1 spring game on TV it’ll have the same results, you have anyone with talent on your squad teams are tampering

And I’m not naive enough to think we aren’t doing the same to other teams

Does suck for the fans though I agree on that, was kind of a nice midway point to give us some football to watch before the fall

Wisky’s Fickell approves of this message.

That sounds like a CIS podcast

Fair points.
However, I would say that there is a difference watching a player on film vs watching him in person. On the former you may watch selected clips vs getting to see players in person, having opportunity to see their size and athleticism in person and their interaction with teammates and coaches. It is similar to why college coaches value their visits to hs prospects during one of their football (or sports) games.
Also, coaches tend to be paranoid about who is watching their team.
Recall when Jimmy Johnson claimed the Buffalo Bills unwittingly tipped him off on certain plays during a live TV interview with Marv Levy while his team was practicing in the background.
