For what it is worth, 247 has Miami currently ranked as 15th in the transfer portal for overall points but if you look at average commit ranking Miami is #2 behind FSU (who unfortunately is a full point better, but has 2 less players).

This board loves revisionist history but he’s the one highly rated prospect I remember this board being in complete agreement about that he would never play at Bama and was overrated in terms of his ranking

He never was bc he's not that good.

However, you can't discount playing time. If Earl Sr. keeps polishing off Saban's nuts with the back of his throat the way he's been doing for the last two years, daddy Saban might throw Jr. A bone and let him play some mop up duty.

I may be wrong but a couple of people insinuated that he wouldn’t have been a take other than he’s local and his pop’s ties to the school.

It's complicated for a lot of people because its new. They are comping our portal recruiting against our HS recruiting and ignoring roster retention as well. People need to comp the portal +/- program vs. program. How we are doing compared to other schools. I have us #3 right now:

You could make a sound statistical case that its going even better. Like I said, we have the 3rd best class by quality and we are probably the #1 team in America (unresearched) when it comes to retaining players we want to keep - or at the very least, the staff has done an incredible job there...
