Spring Spring PractiSe 9 - Saturday March 29

Everyone knows I've been an Emory DAW GAWD gato since day 1...

But the Bowl was straight up tremenda mierda meng.
It was a shock to say the least. He went from looking like a project that needed a ton of work yet had solid game management skills and could follow a game plan in the 2 games we saw him in 2023 to looking like we pulled a fan out of the stands that played flag football once.

A deer in the headlights had more awareness than he did in that bowl game.

He always looked like **** to me

He was never good.

People just allow homerism to cloud their judgment, but objectively, he's never played well once against P4 competition.

Not the Clemson game or FSU, he stunk in both instances, people just made excuses & justified his poor play with him being a TF.

For most Canes fans, it takes them 3 years before they'll come to terms with a player not being good & even then, most will still believe that the bad player has some secret hidden talent that is just lying dormant & if they could just get a chance will suddenly become an All-Conference player.

And if they like said player, it won't matter how bad they are, they'll still be in love with'em regardless of how many years they suck.

It’s so unreal to sit here and say our defense had us in both those games

He'll definitely donate money & contribute to the program like most of our players do once they make it to the league.

But the notion that he has to, or that he somehow owes Miami is a false narrative.

It was a mutually beneficial business partnership.

Miami made more money off him than he made from them.

I haven’t read through all these porsts, it’s just irritating, but are you telling me some people said that he owes Miami money or should pay Miami money back?

Holy **** - talk about not understanding NIL. And you’re completely right this was a mutually beneficial partnership, both in the short and in the long-term.

I don’t know who will have benefited more because it certainly has improved Miami’s reputation as a landing spot for quarterbacks, and that may be the greatest value that he has provided in addition to a record setting season and the wins. Also, we will always have that gator game, here’s looking at you kid.

Hopefully Luke Nickel is the real deal. I know some early practice reports aren’t favorable but Jesus Christ he’s a true freshman who should be in high school right now. Let’s let Dawson work with him and see what happens. Quarterback is the hardest position to evaluate. The same is true for top-tier college football and for the NFL.

Personally I felt that his mental part of the game would eliminate some of the physical shortcomings that he has.

However - that hasn't happened. In the slightest. The weaker your arm is, the better your mental game has to be and his is next to non-existent.

I got no idea why people keep proclaiming he'll be the guy moving forward. He won't.

You have to wonder if the injury has affected his mental in any way. I know he’s had a whole season but he did t really have to play until the bowl game.

Awesome update for those who haven't watched the video. Refreshing to hear that about the dline, especially Lightfoot getting first teams snaps and impressing. It would be huge if he could step up and be a productive 3rd/4th end with Blount. OJ, Lucas, Brantely (Nickel), Poyser and Oconner (S) has to be the best DB unit in the ACC. Also, thank god everything worked out with Beard lol. Just a few years ago, one of our biggest problems was that our WRs were dropping everything

The second he hit the field you could tell he's not a college football QB. People don't know ball if they thought otherwise. I'm sure he's a fine young man. Just not a good college football player.

I listened. Good stuff. Agree on the WRs, that's really good news. ... I have zero concerns about DE and DB now. I keep hearing Chase Smith's name. Maybe the myth is real? Great little anecdote about Calvin's mom chatting it up with Lewis because they were classmates together at the U. Hope those ties pull him our way.
