Lot of positive talk about the defense being easier to understand, allowing players to play to their strengths, etc. Let's hope this shows on the field this fall...excited for this upcoming season!
Not to be that guy but every single time we hire a new DC or OC kids say the same thing. I would take all of this with a grain of salt. It’s time for results.

Are these the names we are watching to see if they move on after spring?

- RayRay Joseph WR (Uncle Luke tears)

- Jackson and Hunter Carver TE (maybe with 105 you keep them)

- Chris Wheatley Humphrey RB (Pringle may pass)

- Emory Williams QB (Heisman winner elsewhere)

- Samson Okunlola (feel like he’s always mentioned)

- Jaylin Alderman (wants more PT somewhere final year)

- Marquise Lightfoot (isn’t adding weight)

- Damari Brown (feel like he’s always mentioned)

- Jadais Richard (injured)

No doubt. I’m a big Heatherman fan and think he will do well here but I can still see us a year from now wondering if Minnesota was a bad culture fit here

Takeaways from today. Lofton is Legit the best player on the team. This is honestly great news because CB did a great job using his TEs and RBs to stress defenses last year. Still think we need another safety, wr and maybe running back. But this could be a very very good team. Elite probably not, but there’s more balance on this roster than last years roster. We obviously lost a ton on offense but (not to put too much pressure on TF) but if Malachi can continue his accelerated growth trajectory and IF we add another seasoned vet at WR, anything is possible.

If we're going to make a playoff run, we need to be balanced and deep. We also need game-breakers and disrupters. Ward, Arroyo, X and Martinez were those guys last year. Is Lofton going to elevate to that level this season? Who else can help Beck take over games?

Scheme is maybe 10% of success and I’d say most of that is don’t F up the talent.

Development has more weight and they’re still humping pool floats for contact work.
Granted I played LB a very long time ago and was not any great prospect or anything but I don’t remember things being complicated

I remember the O’nofrio days and I’m like the **** does this guy keep talking about freelancing for? The **** is there to freelance at this point?

The other defense had terminology probably written in some Cajun bayou gibberish

He's coming for a starting spot. Kid had better highschool film than James Williams that class, IMO.
Ya i was suprised we got him and hos tape was dope was my favorite defensive player in that class 6'4 210 would be huge if hes what we thought he would be
