We're still a couple years away. Still too many JAGS on this team. You can see that our young players even LOOK different. They look like they belong at a top tier program. But we still have quite a few players that simply don't belong here.

No sweat though, it's a process.
I'm very excited about the DB, RB and WR units.
We need a QB with better accuracy who can make the most of the offense.

Funny I say the same thing about the defensive coaching staff. Anyway I have confidence Rosier will not start again this year. Maybe I am just being overly optimistic that Rick knows it’s near impossible to beat the elite teams with Malik under center.

Malik is a tough kid with great character. He just doesn’t possess the tools necessary to be difference maker and this is what we need moving forward.

Malik just needs to improve his accuracy and play with more urgency. There was certainly more to be desired last season but let's not kid ourselves about the injury and depth issues of 2017.

Yeah, blue chip freshmen.

Welcome to the game of football, young boy.

I'm sure they'll do well blocking against 4th and 5th year players.

That always works out well.

Are all 2,500 of your posts this dumb or should I feel special?

Just so I can control my rustle'd-ness is every thread about the team from this point forward doing to be consisted mostly of bashing Rosier?

Thanks in advance!

Every televised game that I watched, when the camera would pan to Rosier, most of the time he was sitting on the bench looking like he wanted to take a nap. I'd be screaming at the TV for him to wake the f*ck up! I saw no emotion, no sense of urgency, no passion. The stats speak for themselves and if watched closely, I didn't see much emotion, sense of urgency, or passion on the field either. My biggest concern, as is with most of you, is what is our alternative at this point?

Relax, I'm sure off season set the lines for the first day. It would be helpful if Brown started living up to his billing coming out of high school. Maybe the kid put in some work in the off season.

Agree! It would be a Godsend if the light came on for George Brown! Never too late as MJ taught us last year.

And Harris is getting reps due to Richards being limited due to the hammy. If Pope had enrolled early those would have been his reps.

Those might be the guys who did best in mat drills. No reason for distress.

This. This time is the time to put guys in position to see what they're made of. Usually you do it for guys that have been in the program in a couple years and have done well in Jan/Feb/Mar training. Give them a shot, reward them for good effort and if they don't pan out, they'll be replaced at some point in the spring. It's a low risk/high reward method of evaluating/motivating guys. Happens all the time. Heck, Alf Gluten used to do this stuff with his s1tty black jersey stuff back in the day.

Apparently you're not very observant then either that or full of ****, not sure which?

1: St. Louis , Jones , Gauthier, Donaldson, Brown

2: Herbert, Scaife, Gaynor, Mahoney, Hillery

Yep. Perry hit his man but all but came to a full stop and set his feet. That would likely lead to a sack in a live situation.

On a rollout? Not necessarily. Something we did not do enough of last year, which was to vary the QB's location. We just let DLs meet at the QB, same spot every play.

Of course you think I am “defending” Rosier rather than pointing out that switching to the triple option with dj Dallas is an insufferably dumb idea. @calinative umstudent is just inexplicably dumb.

See, this post is the truth.

Nobody is disputing that Malik has limitations, he does not have the best mechanics. But as a team leader, he was very instrumental last year, and can continue to be. Malik is a guy that maintains an even keel and comes into the huddle in the fourth quarter, behind on the scoreboard, and keeps the rest of the offense believing that they can score and win. Which we did several times.

Yes, I want to see someone outperform Malik, and put Malik on the bench due to SUPERIOR PLAY IN GAMES. Not just how a guy looks in practice, mechanically, with no pads and no rush.

But to advocate a triple-option attack just because Malik's mechanics aren't pretty or because he needs about 10% more accuracy? Come on, now. I'm no fan of Malik's, but we won 10 games and the ENTIRE TEAM is learning how to win consistently. I would love for one of the freshmen to outperform Malik very quickly, but I'm not dumb enough to call for Deejay Dallas to play QB.
