1) What is your biggest worry/concern going into Spring 2025?

2) What player are you most excited to see on Offense and Defense Spring 2025?

3) What returning player do you hope will establish himself in the two deep that needs to establish himself in the two deep?

For me....

1) What the offense will look like in the Spring without proven players at QB, WR, TE and shallow depth at RB.

2) Emory Williams on Offense because he needs to provide serviceable depth on offense in case Beck gets injured (I don't want to rely on Anderson or Fickel unless the season is a loss). On defense I have two players, Justin Scott and Wesley Bissainthe. Scott because we need a true dominant DT and Bissainthe because up to this point we have not needed him to be the leader on defense and this year he needs to fill that void.

3) On Offense Ray Ray Joseph. I really expected him to be more relevant by now. On defense, Chase Smith, a second year of being healthy and after a year of playing time, I want him to be consistent in two deep. This is year 5.

Thank you for your responses. Whatcha got?

1.) Lack of proven perimeter weapons.
2.) Nickel on O, self explanatory. I think he is our future.
Secondary as a whole for defense. I am interested to see how it shakes out. Who rises from competition, who transfers out etc. Scott would be next for same reasons OP stated.
3.) I’ll give 2 names, one for O/D.

Samson - Would be nice if he solidifies himself as our swing OT worst case and sets himself up for 2026. I know, that’s an eternity away in this portal era and let’s see if he sticks around after Spring first but I still have faith in a kid who is only finishing his 2nd season.

Pruitt - He is the pup I am the most excited about in LB room. He needs weight, we all know that but the instincts, speed, and athletic ability all appear to be there. With Hetherman overseeing that unit, I’m hoping he can take the next step under him and solidify himself as one of our top 3 and TAKE a spot. We need someone in that room to take a huge step and if you made me bet on someone to do it, it’d be him. And yes, I still think we need to get someone from portal as well.

1: Do we have a team or a group mercenaries. There can be no room for selfishness anymore.

2: offense: Carson Beck. Was last year’s performance drop really the team, oc, lack of talent….. is he the guy that was predicted to be an early first round pick?

Defense: Reuben Bain. Can’t look like that as a freshman and then drop like that. So just like Beck; was it the injury? The scheme? Or is he that dude that was tossing 300 grown men like the second coming of Reggie White?

3: Damari Brown. Needs to lock his reps down or lose them. Too deep of a room for him to not perform.

1.Lack of proven talent on offense.

2. Not excited for anyone in the spring, but in the fall Trader because I want to see a real #1 and I hope he is it. On defense BOBBY MUTH****IN WASHINGTON because he is fast and violent.

3. Dylan Day had 94 speed last year and wasn't able to pass any of the untalented players above him.

1.) probably the most disappointing unit last year aside from Barrow where we put a ton of NIL investments in both HS and transfer portal. We’ve gotta get production from Bain, Lightfoot, Bryant, etc this year

2.) On offense JoJo… I think if he doesn’t get hurt early he probably carves out a role earlier taking the Houston transfers reps. He looked great in the bowl game with cam until Emory subbed in.
On defense in gonna go with Lightfoot… he looks like a problem for tackles and his all star game he looked great. Hopefully he’s added needed size hold his own because we definitely lacked twitch on the edge to help offset the bigger Bain and Messidor.

3.) On offense Pancake.. he got a big NIL and as much hype as Francis. Time to show up and take your spot and dominate.
On defense Bryant… I’ve been a big fan since we got his commitment. He’s shown flashes but I want to see him take a spot and run away with it and give us some pass rush

1. There are many..but top for me is replacing arguably all of our offensive production of the top offense in the country from last year. This is the key to the season imo and under discussed on this board.
2. Excited? Eh...how about just seeing guys in our secondary running in the correct direction when facing opposing offenses. Let's start there.
3. Any of the next man up OL or DL. We're gonna need someone to step up and become a part of the two deep this year. It's imperative.

1) What is your biggest worry/concern going into Spring 2025?
Injuries. Beck appears to be doing great in his rehab, if they let him just do that and recover him nicely, he'll be ready to start out.

If you get hurt now, it'll mess up your prep for the next season and it hurts the team. Don't be stupid with stuff.

2) What player are you most excited to see on Offense and Defense Spring 2025?
Offense are Lyle and Lofton, Defense is Popo and Scott. Expecting big things here.

3) What returning player do you hope will establish himself in the two deep that needs to establish himself in the two deep?
Pickett. We need speed on the edge.

1) What is your biggest worry/concern going into Spring 2025?

Lack of production at WR and I am still worried about ILB. We need to find someone really good in the portal who can step in and help that room.

If we can land a legit WR1 and an ILB1 I’ll be predicting a 10 win season again.

2) What player are you most excited to see on Offense and Defense Spring 2025?

Offense: Elijah Lofton - hoping he continues to add size and can be a legit terror for most ACC defenses

Defense: Bain - has he gotten more puffy or is he taking this serious - we need him to take a huge step this year.

3) What returning player do you hope will establish himself in the two deep that needs to establish himself in the two deep?

If Lucas isn’t moving to Safety, we really need Zaquan to take the next step. If Lucas does move to safety, I will say someone at the LB spot like Popo.

1. Lack of experienced playmakers on the perimeter.

2. Offense-Trader/Carr/Moore/Toney.
Lofton/Lyle/Pringle/Schott/Alofaituli

Defense-Scott/Jones/Horton. Blount/Lightfoot/Pickett/Rudolph/McConathy/Lowe/Scroggins
Aguirre/Pruitt/Hayes/Washington/Wiley
The entire secondary

3. Samson Okunlola

Can anyone help me name guys who haven’t had a spring since being here? I think that’s going to be very important (True freshman don’t count)

Fletcher, OJ, Lyle, Damari, who else? Those are critical pieces that should greatly benefit from a spring

Didn't Washington have a bad knee injury?

1. Biggest concern is Beck’s unavailability. I expect our offense to struggle in the spring, especially the WRs. The question then becomes why did we struggle. Lack of proven perimeter weapons like @htownkidd suggests, or absence of a #1 QB? The debate will consume this board all summer. However, the answer will not be known until fall camp and by then it’s too late to adjust.

2A. Jojo. Did he take the next step?
2B. Scott. Is he the dominant DT we’ve been missing?

3. Horton. Time to step up or step out.

Offensive concerns are low hanging fruit. So let’s go defense. Can the DL regain some form? They were a huge disappointment aside from barrow. Do we have talent but no good linebackers ? There’s a lot of talent there but are any actual good backers?

If i'm not mistaken, Scott wasn't here in spring. Artavis Jones, Pickett, Chance Robinson, Ryan Mack and Rudolph also come to mind. I'm sure there are others that I'm forgetting

1) Biggest concern is youth on offense (14 of 22 skill position players are in their first or second year)
2) Offense: Nickel / Defense: Lucas
3) Samson becoming a dependable OT3

1) biggest worry/concern going into Spring 2025?

QBs. Beck's elbow? When does Emory transfer, if at all? How is Nickel picking up the playbook?

2) What player are you most excited to see on Offense and Defense Spring 2025?

Offense - Ny Carr
Defense - Cole McConathy

3) What returning player do you hope will establish himself in the two deep that needs to establish himself in the two deep?

Samson. I'm pulling for the guy to succeed HERE.
