Not to jump in on someone else's convo, but McGahee sat out the entire 2003 season because of that injuryHere’s an example: Willis McGahee gruesome knee injury took only a few months for recovery, when everyone was saying it would take over a year, maybe two. He was drafted in April, and was running in the NFL in the fall.
Same injury with most people would take much longer. Everybody’s different.
I would love it though, if Lo was 100% in the fall. He looks really fit.
He’s already back running so hes Almost back. This is him running yesterday without a brace

I'm excited about Zion as well.....still need to get the OT from UCLA as insurance....Thank goodness that Zion Nelson developed the way he has and that we have DJ Scaife who can play all along the line is a solid doing it.

From WikipediaMy recollection is that he was injured in the NC game vs Ohio State (gruesome injury) and was playing that very same fall NFL season for Buffalo, maybe it was later, like in a later game or a playoff game, but it was that season ...it may have been later in the year but it was a miracle comeback from an injury. I’m going right off the top of my head, so if I mis-remembered that, show me where to set the record straight.
But that’s how I remember it. I could be wrong, but it doesn’t seem like it to me
From Wikipedia
"Eventually, he was selected in the first round with the 23rd overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft by the Buffalo Bills. Due to the length of the rehabilitation for his knee, he sat out the entire 2003 season, but subsequently had two straight 1,000-yard rushing seasons upon his return to playing.[14] "
That injury was nasty though, apparently it got his ACL, MCL , and PCL, which would make sense if he was effectively out for like 19 months after that
And Texas. All went after him hard and was a legit battle to land him.Seriously. Wasn’t he recruited by Auburn and Oklahoma as well?
Zion might very well win the left tackle job and be solid but lets pray that someone else steps up. Not only is it beneficial for us to store and stack up stud, yound o linemen through redshirts to become elite again but a true frehsman left tackle will 1000% come with growing pains. If he does win it there will be times he will struggle. I just hope if that happens we show patience as a fan base because theres nothing worse than feeling like a letdown for a kid who is just starting his development.IMO if we continue to get more QB and OL development this offense has the potential to explode
With the amount of talented playmakers we have it would be a shame to have those two positions let us down again. I don’t think Enos let’s that happen
Predictions -
QB - Tate gets better under center over the break and starts to take the lead to start. Still think Perry and Williams will be right there until the end of camp.
RB - Lingard comes back healthy and we see a 3 headed monster at RB
WR & TE - too much talent to have a let down
OL - Zion is the surprise of the season and wins the LT job. And one or two of these 4 takes the next step (Reed, Hillery, Herbert, Campbell)
Let’s Ride!
now THATS a stud. Thats what Bama and UGA kids look like except hes faster than anyone bama or UGA have ar rb. We need more of thoseHe’s already back running so hes Almost back. This is him running yesterday without a brace

Pope is 6'1. Tall recievers are kinda overrated anyways. Thats a position were size hasnt really proven ****. Antonio brown, Odell beckham and many other great recievers are all under 6ft. not everyone is Julio jones. As long as they can get open with speed, crisp routes, and physiclity off the line we will be finee. Is there a negative to having Thomas, Osborne and Pope as our starting 3 at WR? All guys under 6'1.
Zion Nelson's feet compared to Tommy Kennedy is like comparing Gabby Douglas to a sumo wrestler. Plus Zion is tough as nails. I have heard he hasnt backed down from anyone. Meanwhile Kennedy is being bullied by Nesta every practice. Here's my question @Stefan Adams - we have heard consistently that Kennedy lacks the strength to play at this level, yet Zion shows up at 242 lbs and impresses pretty much from day 1?? I know there are different types of strength, but hard to imagine a 242 lb 17 yr old is stronger than a college senior.
Not a shocker to take a swing at a transfer from a lower level and have them not work out, but it is a little surprising to see them so bad they can't even find a spot in the 2-deep, and to have strength be the issue most often cited yet an undersized kid like Zion can shine. Wow.
I like the idea but we might need him. last year we ended up with 0 tight ends in a game. Enos' offense is very tight end friendly so it wouldnt play to our streghts. need to stack depth.Any chance staff would consider moving Polendey to Tackle? As a tight end at 6'6 and 245, you have to assume there is at least a chance he has the frame and athleticism to play tackle, and he would have all summer to put on weight. Wouldn't be the first TE to move to OL.
Kennedy didn’t “dominate” at a lower level. He wasn’t even first-team All Patriot League. He must be a helluva marketer if he legit had all those offers from big time P5 programs like Oklahoma. First thing I questioned when everyone had him penciled in as our new left or right tackle was why he couldn’t even be a top guy in the Patriot League.Sneaky important positions in 2019
We all know the season will turn on a few key positions. Namely, QB, the emergence of a reliable LT, whether someone makes the leap at DT and who takes leadership of the Safety position. However, there are some subtle positions this upcoming year that will make a 1-2 game difference in terms of...www.canesinsight.com
He executed his assignment consistently well against weak competition and he's a low-risk guy so needy schools bought in. Kennedy did a good job selling himself with his accolades and reputation. The reality is his traits were never good on film - he doesn't create space with his pass sets and he's not strong or physical in the run game - and he's a tweener.
Ironically our OL coach was on the Bucs last year when they drafted Alex Cappa who, like Kennedy, dominated at LT at lower levels but lacked the physicality to kick inside where contact happens faster and more intense. Neither Kennedy or Cappa has the length or quickness to be trusted outside so it's tough for them to find their niche.
