Spread Offense Baby

Since when did Oregon have issues converting short yardage? Please don't bring up BCS bowl games and the national title game as examples. Lets get to the ACC title game before starting to worry about what our offense can get done in those situations against elite level opponents which the ACC doesn't feature. The offense that we ran last year couldn't get it done in short yardage either. An offense that people loved because it was run between the tackles coupled with play action.

Why not? Those are good examples of not converting when it counts, against legit competition. Who gives a **** if they can convert against some middle-of-the-road Pac 12 team?

Why? Oregon doesn't have issues converting short yardage against anyone but top5 teams.

Oregon doesn't have the talent in the trenenches to line up in pro sets and that against those types of teams anyway. Spreading it out with a mobile QB is the best chance they have.

Becuase thats the type of OL that they recruit and the offense they run......Big difference between the OL of say Texas Tech than Wisconsin

And to answer your first question, the Pac-10 isnt known as a defensive conference, but when Oregon plays a team with an actual solid defense they get shut down for the most part. Teams with good DLs is how you beat them, let your front 4 get upfield and create havoc. This is why USC always plays them tough

Who gives **** about winning conference titles and getting to BCS bowl games? I do. The entire ACC is middle of the road teams. And Oregon isn't being blown out in these games against the best teams in the country either. Lost the title game by a field goal. After coming back and converting with their shotgun offense in the red zone. Then getting the two pt. conversion. All plays run out of the shotgun. When it counted. Against legit competition.

Actually defensive wise the ACC fields better defensive units year in year out compared to the Pac-10 which is highly regarded as an offensive conference FWIW
