Nothing like the Miami media kicking off the new season with **** stirring and negativity.

How are they wrong?

They're wrong because we haven't played a game yet this year. Anyone can analyze what already happened and look like a genius.

Get it done this year, or get gone. That's all. But to keep harping on the past a couple days before the season starts is loser ****.

You want to feel good about our game? Look at what Pruitt did with that UGA defense in one game after what Grantham did for a couple years. Night and fsu difference. We are going to hang a lot of points on UL. As long as they score less, I'll take the win.

It seemed other than 2nd half Georgia game, which was the only time defense was apparent, the offenses stopped themselves. 500 ypg may be the new norm.

I watched the UGA game, and they completely throttled Clemson in the second half. Destroyed their offense.

I was at the Clemson-UGA game. Morris got completely out coached in the 2nd half.

Pruitt crushed him. I think Clemson had 15 total yards in the second half. Pruitt backed the corners off and quit asking them to play tight man where they were giving up some easy long passes in the first half. Clemson had no answers for that.

Wanny is just confused overall by our gameplan. Not nearly enough punts.

Why wasn't this defensive "genius" able to contain a Whipple sculpted offense on this day?

Would love to know more of the story behind the Tracy Howard quote. And glad to see former players speaking up about our D. This has to be a make or break year for D'Onofrio.

The story behind the quote is that this team thought they were going to get hammered by the NCAA

Expecting the herald to write a supportive article on the Canes is like expecting Dorito to have a good defense in year 1, 2, or 3. WE all know it takes 4, we hope.

not to defend Coach D but we should be fielding Gionni Paul, Eddie Johnson, and Figs at LB this year. Also, Dequan Ivery was a highly touted kid who gave up. Jawand Blue was a bust who we thought we stole from VT and Jelani looks like a bust. Add the sanctions stuff, this guy hasn't been dealt the best cards.

And then some of you wonder why we have no mercy on these Don Bailey Jr disciples.

how am i a don bailey jr disciple? its reality. u need grown men with talent to win. we had neither. I am not saying he has been great, i am saying look at the cards.

You know what reality is? Reality is this is Golden's FOURTH year. There are no more excuses...especially not when you're 1-11 against the only 12 decent teams you've faced during your tenure here.

Reality is we've been mediocre for over a decade and 3 consecutive coaching tenures. Excuses are out of the window at this point. It's time to win the coastal and beat a mediocre Louisville team that just murdered us in the bowl game.

It's time to win homeboy.

Gundy took a bunch of young kids who had little to no experience take FSU to the brink. Sometimes it's about coaching. There's not always a huge difference in talent but there is when you talk about coaching. Our staff sucks.

You would think the local media would be trying to build excitement for the upcoming season with the game being days away.

It's the Herald and it's the Buzz section, i.e. Barry Jackson's "What's your opinion, what can you tell me and do you want to be qouted or not" section. Look, Wannestache/**** 'stache/ 'stache is keying in on the fact that onfrio is expecting college kids to play, as Chick mentioned, a defense with NFL components. That is why he thinks it is "crazy." 4-3, then 3-4, then who knows what...

My fear is that if onfrio crashes and burns, Golden will keep him as "The Asst. Coach to the Head Coach on Defensive Matters" or some $#!+ like that. Good luck getting a legit D coordinator with that setup.

Here is a "straight" pre-game story if you want it; balance isn't hard if the reporter has the skills:

### Curtis Porter (out of football)

Doesn't anyone have any insight into what happened with Porter? He couldn't have been that bad. Was it his choice not to pursue football? And no, there is no need to start bashing the kid. I just always thought he was pretty decent.

I'm really curious to see how they plan to play a football game at Marlins stadium. I remember seeing a hypothetical seating chart for a soccer game and the side of the stadium with all the windows (and no seats) ended up being one of the sidelines. Just doesn't look right.

Miami Beach Bowl will be played there this December, so you don't have to wait too long.

Wow. It'll almost have as much room on the sidelines as Sun Life.

Actually his quote seems to imply that we are free of bad apples.
That's what I thought as well. Or was it simply a veiled reference to the cloud.
