does anyone know what chatfields is?

His arms look pretty long to me. I'm going to steal some numbers from @Hurricane Warrior

It looks like the cut-off is 6'4 or better (with long-arms) and 4.8 speed or better. Chatfield falls below that.

In the past decade, I would've flipped about strict requirements for a baller like Chatfield. But Kool's track record is beyond reproach, and he's actually landing guys who can play and have prototypical traits.

Even Shane Ray and Charles Harris are legit 6.3-6.4 guys.

His best DE at Missouri, Michael Sam, was only 6'2

Like Lu alluded to above, wingspan matters. Michael Sam's wingspan was over 66 inches on a 6'2 frame. Shane Ray also had a wingspan of over 66 inches.

Those wingspans can't be correct. Perhaps Ridler meant 76 inches. There's a difference between arm length (which is actually even more useful) and wingspan. Wingspans are usually at least the height of the person. Then you have players like Jon Garvin who may be 6' 3" or 6' 4" (75 or 76 inches) but might have an 80"+ wingspan. Njoku, for example, had something like an 82.5" (6' 10.5") wingspan. Dude's a weirdo. He basically has an elite shooting guard's measureables..

Yeah, my bad. I just doubled players' listed arm lengths. Had a big brain fart there.

Kool's been on him since February. He rushed into a commitment with FSU, but pretty sure we've stayed on him the whole time.

Dante Lang - Signed with UF. Legally changed name to Dante Zanders. Moved to tight end. Redshirted 2018. Stranded behind Kyle Pitts 2019 & 2020. Moved back to DE in 2021, backup. Moved back to TE in 2022, started 6 games, uninspiring numbers.

Demetrius Mayes - Signed with UCF. Within a month of enrolling in Orlando, caught a sexual battery case. Out of football in 2018. Apparently beat the case, played at Fort Scott CC in Kansas in 2019. Apparently was headed to FAMU at some point? Idk what happened but he never enrolled there, instead going to Davenport University, a DII school in Grand Rapids, Michigan. I can't find any stats but I don't think he played there either. Current status unclear.

Uchenna Ezewike - Signed with UMass. Redshirted 2018. Reserve in 2019. Part of the rotation in 2020. Starter last two seasons, put up pedestrian numbers.

Hansky Paillant - Signed with App State. Redshirted 2018. Backup in 2019. Part of the rotation in 2020 and 2021. Started every game in 2022, average numbers.

Robert Hicks - Signed with Louisville. Moved to inside linebacker. Part of the rotation as a freshman. Backup in 2019. Injured in 2020. Transferred to UT-Martin. Part of the rotation in 2021. Ascended to leader of the defense & one of the best LBs in FCS in 2022. Draft prospect.
