Sony Michel top 5

According to a recruiting beat writer for UGA:
-- It's most likely he decides in the next 6 weeks
-- Right now it's 50/50 between Miami and UGA
-- There are some people who want him out of the Miami area and away from the distractions he grew up with, while others want him close to home
-- There's a good chance he visits a UGA spring practice or spring game before making his decision.

TIFWIW

This **** needs to stop.

Ain't that the truth. Coral Gables is NOT THE GHETTO.

I already see how this is going to play out. two scenarios:

1) He commits to UGA in 6 weeks and stays committed to them throughout the process.

2) He commits to Miami in 6 weeks, decides to take official visits to 5 schools after his season, reopens his committment after 'seeing new experiences', plans NSD hat trick, commits to Alabama. Canesinsight goes ape****.

Just saw this gem from Sony:

Miami fans have wondered if bringing in another running back such as Dalvin Cook would deter Michel, but he says that is the absolute opposite.

“One of the factors of my decision will be going to a school that has another great running back because I want to be able to compete everyday in practice and know that I’m working.”

lol, not the people wanting him out of miami speech again. i have no idea about this kids life or past, but, he goes to an expensive private school in a pretty nice area of broward county.
did he really grow up w/ bad influences in miami before coming to broward county?
this kid isn't getting away. too many positives and reasons to come to UM. immediate playing time, close to home, private school, grew up a fan.

Exactly. This isn't the 80s and he goes to school in Plantation. Christ.

Huh? Where did Collins go to school? Wasn't Collins all in for UM for a pretty long time. Collins was a Broward kid. He was committed to UM at one point. Now Sony isn't Collins but spare us the geography angle. We have been burned by those closest to us very recently. Nothing is final until the LOI is signed. The fact that you and 5xnc would even trot out the "the kid isn't getting away" spiel 1 week after a chaotic signing day ordeal just shows how dense our fanbase can be.

listen Collins is a ''different type kid'' he's a little corny and is not all about repping his city like Duke or Bush. He didn't even like Miami growing up he was a FSU fan and he wore FSU gear at school. Sony has been a Miami kid since day 1 and is a serious kid who only cares about football and living up to his hype by everyone. If Sony doesn't pick Miami i will be stunned and not Thomas stunned that kid was iffy since day 1 but Sony is different from him and Collins he loves UM. For him to pick somewhere else something shady is going on and with Mike Rumph their now i don't think we have nothing to worry about just like Bennett and coley..

Mike Rumph is the head corch at American Heritage now. Just saying.

And Mike LOVES Golden, i met him at a bar in the Design District, The Stage. Me and my boy, another diehard Cane, had a couple beers with him and shot the **** about E.Reed, Butch and the days he was there. We didnt even have to ask him about Golden, he brought him up himself. Started saying that we're on our way back and that Golden is the man....

And Mike comes across as a VERY nice guy that loves the U!

stop...
the geography angle still applies. when in doubt, always go w/ the hometown school. kid has been a huge UM fan his whole life. much like duke.
i was laughing at the geography angle being used by the uga writer in "people wanting kid out of miami and influences he grew up with..."
again, i don't know his upbringing, but, for many years now he has attended a very nice private school in broward county surrounded by very expensive homes.

This is the lone reason why we were the cream of the college crop at one point. And I hope kids start understanding this.

dear god this kid is in high school

Not that I know every school in the mix with him, but what is this Notre Dame bullsh*t. When did they enter the picture?

explain to me how Collins is corny? and I only heard this word associated with him after he made a different choice. Also, Collins rocked UM gear ALL THE TIME and whenever I saw him. Sony is far from a lock but I believe we can get him in the end. And with his decision "supposedly" coming up in the next couple months I just thought I would mention that he's down to five schools for all those complaining

Nah Collins was called cornball brother before he committed to Ark cuz he's a cheerleader and plays lacrosse.

LULZ at that same nonsense. He needs to get away from the mean streets of affluent Coral Gables and head up to tranquil UGA where a new player is getting arrested every other day.

Another thing about Sony, especially if he commits in the next "6 weeks", is that Sony resonates NATIONALLY. If Winky commits to Miami, it's huge news to everyone in South Florida. If Sony commits to Miami, it's huge news across the country of high school prospects.

cornball brother
n pl Cornball Brothers (kôrn'bôl' brəT͟Hər)

a. An African American male who chooses not to follow the stereotype. This includes, but is not limited to, being educated, well spoken, a role model, a leader, selfless, an upstanding member of the community and above all - humble.

pretty much exact opposite of "Miami Guy" LOL

Nah, I don't think that's the definition of cornball brother
