Sony & Duke

To be honest, im a huge canes fan but I will always push him to make the best decision for him. We are looking good but it will be a fight. On a side note, Duke has gotten bigger and taller since I last seen him. Sony used to look much taller than him before.

What is Sony's attraction to Georgia?

Go Canes

$ec....$$ec....$$$ec

georgia's chamber of commerce is a frat house.

Athens is an hour and a half from Atlanta 2 and a half in traffic. Coral Gables is 10 mins from Miami. Get your boy a map.

Sony is a city boy. He enjoys south florida and all the entertainment it has to offer. UGA (Atlanta)is the closest thing to Miami. Thats the only place in the south with that draw.

As far as Gurley and Marshall. Sony wants to play in a talented backfield. The more competition, the better. He likes the challenge of trying to take reps away from two potential all-americans. The better the talent in our backfield, the better our chances.

In your honest opinion which school do you think offers the best FOOTBALL program as a WHOLE. From facilities, strength and conditioning coaches and facilities, player development, nutritional staff, etc.....

UGA is historically underachieving as any program in the SEC. They always recruit top 10 classes, and have 2 SEC Titles in the last 25 years to show.

I went to college close to Athens, and I'm sitting in Atlanta right now, not quite city limits, but close, and it takes over an hour to get from Athens to anything of note in Atlanta.

Don't wanna over hassle you but if he's really looking for comp, is duke and yearby enough for him? And secondly as someone else mentioned, Athens is pretty far from anything of importance in atlanta

they only have 2 sec titles because other schools like L$U, Bama, and Ufag have higher salary caps

NOOOOOW it makes sense, lol.. Used to go back n forth with you on sony/cook/collins/etc debate and would joke you had to be related to sony with the biased you demonstrated...

Should of said you were family, it would make it understandable. I can respect that because you will back fam all day. looking forward to seeing sony in the spring, hoping he regains his form 100%

everyone will be his best friend now hah

Let Sony go to Athens and him decide. He will see from hartsfield airport to athens is a decent drive and hartsfield airport is only 5-10 minutes from midtown. Athens do have the cheap drinks n plenty of bars around- i like to go there every now and then opposed to buckhead or midtown (but it is def no midtown or city feel!)

I lived in Athens myself and I now live in ATL suburbs. Honestly, I wish I never would've left Miami most days.

Athens is a nice college town but it's nothing like Miami or Atlanta really. It's a good little drive to Atlanta too. You're gonna want to have a hotel if you're planning on partying in Atlanta and getting back to Athens at any point. They sure do like arresting football players up in Athens. And anyone else for that matter. DUI is big income for the state of GA. Athens has roadblocks up the ***. I used to deliver pizza there back in the day.

I've always thoought Sony would be a Cane. If he likes the competition then Duke will be there for a minute and then he can compete with Yearby, Corn, and Gus. If we go undefeated I expect The Golden One to talk that cat from New Orleans into coming down too.

Sooooo . . . when did they move U of Georgia to Atlanta? I was out in the desert for a couple of weeks - someone fill me in?

If UGA applies as being close to ATL, then ND would have to be there. I think South Bend is an hour or so away from CHI.

Having yearby definitely helps. Thats the day to day competition he is looking for.

As far as Athens being an hour away. Name me another school in the south that has the college town feel and a major city that close?

We have have to remember, these are options. You have to weigh out the best options for what you value the most. He knows he is making a 40 year decision. Not just four years. Lord forbid he gets in a situation like Marcus Lattimore, you have to be able to enjoy urself where you are and recieve a top notch education.

First off, I think I can speak for most when I say that I obviously understand that your priority will be Sony making the right decision, and as biased as we are, I think we legitimately believe UM is the best place for him (I suspect UGA fans have a different opinion).

UM has the competition. UM has the big city. I think it's unrealistic to think that Sony would go to Atlanta very often. It's pretty far off campus for a college student, and would end up not really being worth over a 2 hour commute. As to the education point, according to the most recent US News and World Report, UM is number 44 in the country while UGA is 63.
