Something I Found Interesting

Added meaning for Golden. He's never been above .500 as a coach, you know that's gotta bother him.

It is not at all uncommon for a young coach to be sub .500 on his way to the top. But the OP has given the team a real reason to crush UNC next thursday-a present for AL.

Something I found interesting is that when Golden took over Temple in 2006 the Owls went 1-11 and that one win snapped a 20 game losing streak. By 2009 that same Temple program that was almost scrapped all together went 9-4 and played UCLA in their first bowl game since 1979. Taking the worst football program in D1 football and making it respectable speaks volumes about what kind of head coach Miami got in Al Golden.

And now where is Temple three years removed from Al Golden leaving the program? Sitting at 0-5? Haven't won a game this year? What happened?

That is not relevant according to what I heard.

1. Temple was/is a powerhouse.

2. Temple message boards were luck to get rid of him and the DC.

3. Temple has better talent then the rest of the conference period, this proves Al failed there.

No, I don't think that BS stat bothers him at all. Something for posters to mention on message boards and that's it.

A guy as detailed as Golden, you don't think it nags at him just a little?

Or that he'll at least enjoy a win vs UNC a bit more than a normal one?

No, I sure don't. Golden is a winner and is confident in his abilities. All he's focused on is winning and making men out of boys.

Wow. Al looks 10 years younger in the OP photo than he does now. All this ncaa BS is wearing on him.

His mentor Bill Belichick was 36-44 before he got the New England head coaching job. Hope it works out the same for Coach Golden.
