Someone tell me why the defense will be better next year

If we continue to try and run the same ****, we won't. We are trying to run a D that needs big, bulky players on them. We're recruiting speed players on the front seven and asking them to bulk up and its just not working.

Why? More experience, depth, and talent will be there. I do agree that Perryman will go pro. He's one of the best LBs in the country and likely will go around 2nd-3rd round. It won't matter who we have though with D'Onofrio as DC. The defense is so predictable. We hardly ever blitz which we should be doing alot of considering our D-Line sucks at getting to the QB. We play a soft zone. Our defensive scheme is basically to sit back and wait for the offense to come to us instead of attacking. We could have an all-time great Miami defensive team and we'd still suck due to this garbage scheme.

Unless his family needs $, why would DP go Pro? Where does the consensus on this board think he will get drafted? I'm thinking 4/5 round, does he think this D's degrading performance is going to keep hurting him?

Alot have him as a late 2nd-early 3rd. His stock isn't going to rise much higher than 2nd round due to to his size. Why would he want to come back? There's really no reason to stay. We're not going to be competing for a NC next year, so might as well make some money. He's as good as gone IMO. Ill be highly surprised if he stays for next year.

What consensus. I'm not saying you are wrong but don't see him anywhere near that high. Not hating, just think late second day is his best chance.

CBS has him as a 3rd
Draft Tek has a 3rd
And I seen more individual analysts with 2nd and 3rd round grades. Like I said before, he's never going to be a 1st round pick. The highest he'll get drafted is in the 2nd. He has no reason to come back next year unless he wants to deflate his stock with an injury or something.

Kudos, wondering if that has been updated since the preseason. Again, not hating on him, just don't see him that high. He will get drafted, but if it is after this year I would be shocked if it is before the 5th round.

Hoping he's the real deal.

I'm not sure how the interior D-Line will be worse? Assuming none of the current class flips and our current guys continue to develop, they certainly won't get worse. Losing Porter, Robinson, and Renfrow who all have underperformed. More experience for Moore, Pierre, Kamalu, King, and gaining Valentine, Moten, Wyche, Jenkins, Stuckey(maybe), and perhaps a couple more guys. Less seniors but those seniors before weren't exactly any good. LBS will be worse once Perryman leaves though but I do like Figatron.

Because we need to redshirt all the DL unless they are jucos. That's where we've been screwed the last 3 years. As bad as porter, Robinson and renfrow have been, they're better than their backups and true freshman coming in.

Really thought I could come with a reason but can't, only thing I got is maybe the offense will be on the field more and keep the defense fresh.

I don't know if they'll be better, but with a new coaching staff and style, I suspect they'll give us something to be proud of, at least.

Maryland played today with a ragtag bunch. They got beat by VTech WRs on certain plays. You can live with that. But, they took chances, they anticipated plays and, when push came to shove, the ball happened to bounce their way.

I wish we just played in a way we could be proud of. For someone who's so aware of "brand," I'm surprised Golden has allowed this brand of defense to develop.

1. New DC. Doesn't even have to be elite, just be competent.

2. Elite talent coming in at DT.

3. Best LB's will be sophomores/juniors.

4. Although it seems unlikely, someone will break out. It is bound to happen, hopefully at DE.

I meant if Coach D comes back

#30,#22,#31,#51,#59 are gone bra!
Thats why! ****!!
Plus, i think the most important move is for chick to go inside Asap

It will not be. Exept maybe the secondary. D line is garbage ask renfrow ( the bench warmer from UVA ) line backers can't do what their asked to do( tackle or cover) . Actually none of the d can do what their asked. Coach d is not good, and maybe he needs to change what their asking them to do

Miami brings in a new DC that runs a 4-3, "react only" scheme will make the defense better
