Aside from the secondary, the DL and LB will be worse, especially when Perryman goes pro. Next year will be the same as this year. The great recruiting class won't make an impact next year. This is no better than last, and next year will be no better than this. So **** frustrating.

Why? More experience, depth, and talent will be there. I do agree that Perryman will go pro. He's one of the best LBs in the country and likely will go around 2nd-3rd round. It won't matter who we have though with D'Onofrio as DC. The defense is so predictable. We hardly ever blitz which we should be doing alot of considering our D-Line sucks at getting to the QB. We play a soft zone. Our defensive scheme is basically to sit back and wait for the offense to come to us instead of attacking. We could have an all-time great Miami defensive team and we'd still suck due to this garbage scheme.

Unless his family needs $, why would DP go Pro? Where does the consensus on this board think he will get drafted? I'm thinking 4/5 round, does he think this D's degrading performance is going to keep hurting him?

perryman is not one of the best linebackers in the country and I don't think there is any chance he gets drafted that early.

if Butch is the coach we'll immediately be top 40.

If Al's the coach, we are ****ed six ways from Sunday. That UVA Al Groh et al coaching tree is such a pile of ****.

Alot have him as a late 2nd-early 3rd. His stock isn't going to rise much higher than 2nd round due to to his size. Why would he want to come back? There's really no reason to stay. We're not going to be competing for a NC next year, so might as well make some money. He's as good as gone IMO. Ill be highly surprised if he stays for next year.

What consensus. I'm not saying you are wrong but don't see him anywhere near that high. Not hating, just think late second day is his best chance.

Really scary that Kirby hasn't been unable to unseat Gaines this year. Makes you wonder if hes any good.

Actually, it might be better if only because I cannot imagine it being worse.

believe me it can get worse. Imagine this defense with King and Moore inside. Our only good LB will most likely leave as well.

That's why I said "might." I've learned this season to try to better manage expectations.

I can't believe a diehard Canes fan is saying that. Being a Canes fan means not managing expectations--championship every season, period. That's what it is supposed to be.

No we won't bad players and bad coaching. There is only a few players I see on this roster playing in the nfl. My few are coley who I think can be the best ever at Miami and flowers. So having said that with bad coaching. Lol

Same question I had last year when people were saying it was just because we were young. It won't be better unless something major changes at the top.
