Some thoughts on the Wake Forest win...

Lots of blinders and subjective analysis. I could care less if this team is 10-1 because the schedule is super weak. This is NOT a good team and without Cam weare below .500. For us to win to Cam must play smarter and take what the defense gives him. He certainly makes some very stupid plays that costs us dearly. The defense played well in the second half but why not the entire game. Wake Forest is an absolutely horrific team that we struggled putting them away.
They had 190 yards of total offense. I don’t even need to look up if that is a season low. Check your facts. They played poorly first two drives of game. Then it was light out. That’s 75% if game, not half.

Though the defense played well last couple of quarters, Guidry is still suspect.
He looks like he's hit his ceiling... hopefully we move on next season .

Special team is atrocious three yearsin a row... don't tell me we can’t find a decent ST coach.

Most Head Coaches look engaged with their coordinators but Mario looks clueless on the sidelines. . His TO specialist isn't helping either.... can I get his gig?

Personnel changes were big in this game. Baron was essentially benched. Mesidor took his spot. We got big time play from the DT rotations. Pruitt was an animal off the bench. Then on the backend Williams had more snaps then Harris in the second half.
it's time to put aside any feelings or rules of seniority -- play the best guys, regardless

Some quick thoughts on Miami's, 42-14 victory over Wake Forest..

- Miami is now 10-1, a marked improvement for Mario Cristobal in year 3 of his reign. But for some reason, many UM fans dont feel euphoric because you wonder if this team is really getting better and evolving as the season goes on. But... 10-1 is 10-1 and they are one game from going to the ACC title game

That is progress no matter how you look at it. Personally, as frustrated as I was earlier watching this game )which at times was a slog) I'm going to enjoy it-- Ive been through too many bad seasons not to)

- Miami's defense struggled early and then to their credit, played well the last 2-and-a-half quarters. Still need faster and smarter players on the back end. But again, they really gave up just 7 points, and created a pick six with Powell

- Cam Ward has been great for this program, but again, still needs to be more consistent in taking the routine play. This is not a knock, but just an observation. I know how much he's meant to the '24 Canes

- Special teams is bad. It's clear they dont put much emphasis on this aspect of the game. Where have you gone Don Soldinger?

- 'Ground' Jordan Lyle should play a bigger role moving forward. He just has that spark and break away speed. He's quicker than Fletcher, and hits the hole faster than Martinez

- Today showed how under-used Elijah Arroyo is on most weeks. With all the cover-2 Miami sees, he should be a a guy that kills defenses in the middle of the field and the seams

- So does Damari Brown do more than just warm up next week?

- OK, next week Miami goes up to the Dome. That will be a battle. Fran Brown and the Cuse will treat that as their Super Bowl and the Orange offense is good enough to give Miami a lot of issues defensively
Hopefully our dline exposes Syracuses ****** oline. Their oline is crap from what I’ve seen.

You're just going to go thread to thread spilling your period blood all night? Btw, it's couldn't care less. Couldn't.

We also need to fix special teams asap since we can't afford to give other teams freebees like kickoff returns and/or punt returns. We need to do the little things right in order to win acc and do something in the playoff. We aren't good enough to overcome giving up free points like KO returns.

also please let Abraham Murray do kickoffs he can save his red shirt now. Borregales doesn’t have the leg for kickoffs.
He does they are telling him to do that stupid ah*t in hopes of pinning teams below the 25. The crazy thing is Everytime they do it it's a big return smh.

It's obvious because he directionally kicks it when it happens

He doesn’t have enough hang time for what he’s trying to attempt.

Their game plan was stupid. Everyone knows our db’s are a weak spot and you can throw all over us, but for some reason they decided to not even throw the ball the second half.

They also moved Meesh up to Nickel DPJ outside.

Alderman played a great game and deserves more snaps next week along with Pruitt as Cuse isn’t going to run the ball so less need to play Kiko in obvious passing downs

it's clear to me that Miami is a program that doesn't put all THAT much emphasis on it. I mean, don't they have an analyst in charge of it. My view is that you're only going to be as good as the time you put into any unit or aspect of the game

There was a reason why Vatech for years was always good on special teams under Beamer. They absolutely made it a priority every season. Outside of the quality of our kicker and punter(to a lesser degree), our ST's are pedestrian, to say the least
