Some thoughts from the scrimmage

I saw Tracy and Antonio in person in HS. I've said from day one before either got here, Antonio is better and will be better in college.

Sandland looks very average athletically.. Did not look like the same guy on video.. maybe hes just adjusting but he doesn't seem to run very well. Standish is huge...Crawford looks better than last year he can be a capable back up still can't believe we don't have a better stable of rbs at Miami because Dillard has NO explosion ... Offense with Morris dominated. drops are the only thing that stopped them... I'm nervous about Tracy, i think antonio Crawford is better..

I have had a similar opinion when it comes to Tracy and Crawford. BUT, that is no knock on Tracy as I still think he will be very good for us, I just think Antonio Crawford was crazy underrated/underrecruited and should have been a 5 star CB. I love his playing style

Sadly, the upcoming season will be much about the Defense and does the DC incorporate more man and blitz packages. A cover 3 defense with the type of athletes UM has now is criminal.

Just to comment on some post. Tracy isn't a speed guy, he is a guy who will excel at getting his hands on you and locking down one on one. Only problem is we run a ton of cover 3. With cover 3 a corner is allowed to basically give up underneath as there is suppose to be a guy buzzing those underneath zones. His responsibility is deep thirds.

I know donofrio was in the box because I could literally hear him screaming during every play when guys lined up wrong and the like.

Dorset was down for awhile, came over to bench and sat on training table with towel over his head for remainder of scrimmage. Didn't move until the team bought it together at mid field.

Yea there was one play where DOrsett ran a 20 yard out route and he just ran Tracy completely off he was at least 10 yards away from the play.. Tracy has better instincts then crawford but he has subpar athleticsm. He's not very agile doesnt have great start and stop capabilities and isnt very fast. He has great hips and heart and is gritty and not afraid to put his head down a lot of people say thats all you need. If he wants to be physical and slow guys down he better hit the weight room harder because duke got much bigger then tracy did the last 3 months.

I have to disagree. Kirby was very active when he played, and that was coming off an injury. I remember focusing on him in a few games. He's gonna be a good one

Don't listen to country.. I specifically remembering him filling the hole several times towards the end of the season. To the point where you had to say who the F is #56... lol I thought he was injured.

It's very likely that he's not going to start this year.

Another player in a long line of players who were hyped before he even set foot on the field.

You can zone blitz from cover 3, some teams do it alot actually....

But we dont play a little cover 3. We play a ton. Donofrio coaches sooooooo scared sometimes he has these guys 8 yards off and bailing at snap to cover deep thrids on freaking 3rd and 3. Makes no sense sometimes. I can understand using it in some situations but he coaches scared to not give up the big play and we still end up giving the big play. smh
