Why are we talking about Ponce? He is not even a serious candidate.
I can’t wait for this to end, but I’m going to miss it.This thread is so bad it’s good.
I mean i hear what youre saying.. but i think what you are ignoring is the talent level he had compared to the rest of the SUNBELT.. He had an ACC QB, 2 NFL caliber WR's, and 2 NFL caliber RB's... A lot of that success is purely from they were better than most teams they played. I mean ****, he could barely move the ball on our sorry defense.. Which i think is a great indicator when all things were equal on the field.Analytics are part of the puzzle. Some are helpful, some are idiotic.
SP+ (which is incorporated into the F+ ranking) had two-loss Oklahoma 2008 as the greatest team of the modern era. That is stupid.
Here is a less-stupid opinion: a team that scores 34 ppg on an average amount of plays and wins 10 games is a good offense.
At least his call sheet is laminated
Mario hired a fired HC as OC once but can you imagine a 5 hours conversation between him and Mullen? Lol
Not seriously, no. Just all fun and games and speculation (for now); although there was a Cooney tweet indicating he was in S.Fla today.Has Cribby, JayCane, or any media member brought up Ponce, or are we having a preemptive freak out?
I need to know what level meltdown to adjust to.
The latter sir.Has Cribby, JayCane, or any media member brought up Ponce, or are we having a preemptive freak out?

Ruiz has doubled down in a few tweets saying he was never offered.Does anyone know if Briles was even offered or whether he used this as leverage?
There is one stat:Manny Diaz also based his entire defensive philosophy on analytics.
The thing is, people are so desperate for that one stat that proves an offense is good/bad and it doesn’t exist. There’s a ton of factors that can skew analytical data. That’s why coaches need to use numbers on a macro level as opposed to focusing on one or two sets of data.
I’m all for using as many metrics as you can rather than the old “gut instinct” but baseball is a completely different animal than football. Mostly due to the fact that baseball is essentially a one vs one game with pitcher and batter.
