That makes no sense , no coordinator or position coach would ever commit past two years. It a one year at a time business. Nobody knows their future or where their life will be in two years.
Exactly like unless it’s ur boy u shouldn’t want a coordinator around for long usually means ur not winning big games they would get poached for head coaching jobs if ur doing well

Culture-killer Dan Mullen did a number on that UF culture that won 2 titles, a Heisman trophy, went 57-12, and had a top 20 offense four straight years with him at OC.

This. You hired Mario to create the culture. Just put the cuck up in the booth to call
Happy that Brady is out TBH. He had a historic season with a loaded offense but not paying a relatively inexperienced CFB OC $2 million per and giving him total control of the offense, just to have him up and leave in a year. Not a fan of Dorsey either. I get that he's a 'Miami bro' but he's a less than impressive candidate otherwise.

Briles would certainly intrigue me but Ruggiero and Grimes would be higher on my list

You have to expect any coordinator to be here one year with TVD and the potential season this offense can have. Just get the best choice.

Jeff Grimes at OC would be interesting. He's a former OL coach like Mario. His offenses ranked

Scoring. Total Offense
2017 124th. 119th the year before he was OC
2018 79th. 101st.
2019 68th. 27th.
2020 3rd. 6th.
2021 37th. 43rd. At Baylor

Baylor before Grimes was. 101st and 119th

I like Jeff Grimes a lot as well, but he doesn’t coach qb’s (he usually coaches OL or TE) so the situation would be similar to Brady in that we would need a QB coach to go along with him.

The Briles clan actually run the ball, I believe Ark finished in the top 15 in rushing. Art ran the ball well too. This isn't some finnesse offense imo

Man them dudes came from behind down 3 scores with a receiver playing 4th string emergency quarterback at Baylor. I watched that game when it happened. Still lingers in my mind as one of the most incredible coaching jobs I ever witnessed.

This same system produced a Heisman winning RG3.

It’s versatile. Dual threat qb is more veer. Pocket passer is more run and shoot. It is deadly either way.

My issue with pre-Arkansas Briles is his offenses usually came out hot — like Coley’s did — and then struggled later in the game after adjustments were made by the opposing team.

I didn’t watch a lot of Arkansas games this year, so maybe that’s not a problem anymore. But it’s hard to get Danny Miaz outcoaching that’s dude’s *** out of my head.

Not saying he’s bad. I like how he runs a similar offense to Lashlee, but I certainly have my reservations.

It's the same offense as this man....

not funny GIF
He runs 6 plays

Brady
Briles
Dorsey

That’s the names I’ve always heard. When the Mario thing started to heat up Dorsey was mentioned, Mario always wanted to work with him. He thinks a lot of Ken. I’m just not sure it Ken wants to leave the nfl. Maybe coaching alongside Mario could make that happen.
The OB Boys allude to the fact that Briles is a liability ref off field issues. Any substance to this? They mentioned a rape scandal from the past?

It wasn’t all coaching. It was mostly Jimmy’s and Joe’s. That OL couldn’t block a team full of toddlers. And their QB was trash too.

He was with Dino Babers & Sterling Gilbert at Easter Illinois & Bowling Green...

They run that TX High School Pistol Offense, it’s a simple one-read offense, it’s close to the Veer as well.

But I don’t think he’d be the kinda guy we’d get, if we take any coaches from Kent St, the HC Sean Lewis is the one & no way do you go from being a G5 HC to being a P5 OC, that never happens lol.

Actually, a couple MAC HC have went to P5 OC. Can’t remember names. Was Enos one??

Shhhhhhhhhh.... we're busy trying to convince ourselves that Mario wouldn't stuff the goofy Mullen **** in a locker on day 3.:)

@Cribby's most recent post on CIS that mentioned Mullen:

;)
I mean, Mario worked w Lane Kiffin, who is infinitely more insufferable than Mullen (and thats saying something) and somehow didn't stuff him in a locker (Saban would've allowed it too). Mario is about results. We'd have a top 10 offense.

Hes not coming. We can agree on that. Hes just on alot of our wishlists given how prolific his offenses have been.

But if its a choice between Briles and Mullen (its not), Mullen is the obvious choice. No HC would realistically choose Briles in this scenario, who is neither a better recruiter or better playcaller.

This is a good point. I’d be happy with Briles, but I hope he’s continued to develop at Arkansas.

Is Joe Brady not going to happen now? I'm in the midst of a 9 hour drive so hard to keep up.
