Is Arkansas keeping their new OC hire a secret till we announce? If Briles were coming they would have hired …or there would be interviews. Or Briles hasn’t given his two week notice yet.

I remember reading articles from like 2006 saying how great Dorsey was as a leader for the other QB's and how knowledgeable he was. He always gets praise at every place his been. My issue normally with hiring family is it makes it more difficult when things aren't going right. But I don't see that as an issue with Cristobal so if he thinks he's worth I'm on board with it. But ideally you'd like a guy with a track record as an OC. I think a combo of Dorsey, McClendon, and a older off field analyst guy like Chud would actually be a combo with a lot of potential.

Two weeks notices don’t really apply

Most positions in the business world that pay $100k+ walk you out when you announce that you’re leaving

You can google the story of when we were lucky enough to hire Dan Enos and how surprised Saban was

maybe hes spoken to reporters and has stated he prefers the NFL route (no recruiting, pure coaching) vs the other. again, well find out if that's the case if hes the hire as OC.
So reporters ask NFL coaches if they like recruiting. Find that hard to believe.

Feld better pace himself.

As a fellow white, I remember dating a Cuban girl down here and trying a "cortadito" for the first time around her family.

I pounded a few too quickly to look cool and it felt like my pupils started vibrating. I think my body temperature shot up to about 106 and I started speaking Cantonese then blacked out.

Mario was knocking back 15 a day up in Eugene. Y'all don't think Feld got into that stash? I mean, that explains a lot actually lol.

a local reporter asking a former hurricane who is now an NFL coach his thoughts on possibly coming back to college? remember Dorsey accepted or nearly accepted the app state gig before jumping back to the NFL

Well you are right and wrong 😁. This does not apply for Briles

But in the business world, most 6 figure positions do require notice and don’t get walked out on resignation notice. Heck, in the UK, 4 weeks notice is the standard. Most companies/employees that are parting ways do work together on a transition plan before their last day.

So a guy who coached Cam Newton during his MVP season and currently coaches Josh Allen will not get the attention of a 5-star prospect? All these kids have dreams of being the first pick of the NFL draft. Nothing to learn from the PGC/QBC of the Buffalo Bills. Good lord.
Short answer yes. These kids have a lot more going on in there life to know who a QB coa cfb is in the NFL. A 2023 five star was 9-10 years old when Cam Newton won MVP and Dorsey was his QB coach. Of course they can google Dorsey when they find out he is OC/QB coach but cfb is about recruiting first and coaching second in regards to talent acquisition I think. BYU developed a 1st rounder you think 5 stars are thinking about going there because what the QB coach/OC did?

So a 5 star kid is going to know who Ohio State's QB coach is, but not Dorsey?

You're reaching, dude.

I think its the opposite.

Because he's a 'Cane, the fanbase thinks we are slummin'.

LSU grabbed a Sean Payton coffee runner to implement an offense that won them a national championship.

If Miami were looking at a guy like Mike Kafka, Shane Day, Kevin O'Connell or something...people would be scrambling to think its a genius hire.

The reality is, even at the Power 5 level, your offensive playcaller can come from some wild places. A QB Coach (with a history of getting a ridiculous amount out of his QBs) / Passing Game Coordinator (of a Top 10 NFL passing offense) in the NFL is a perfectly acceptable hire at the Power 5 level to be your primary playcaller.

It's not an "acceptable hire" it would be a f'ing score. The only reason we are even in the conversation for KD is BECAUSE of his love for the U. There isn't another college that has a chance at him. The highest level, the rarest air of football decision makers, NFL HC's and GM's have been circling KD, interviewing him for ONE OF THE 32 NFL OC POSITIONS ON EARTH. It's his slam dunk next opp.

Like I said earlier, it's hysterical to see the same people who pine for Brady, who was literally never, ever even an NFL position coach and spent ONE season as the ASSISTANT to the WR coach of the Saints dismiss Dorsey, who has been an ACTUAL NFL position coach for 8 years and is a F'ING NFL PASSING GAME COORDINATOR.

The thoughtlessness around here is really a bummer sometimes.

FYI this does not mean Briles or Brady would not be excellent, big time hires. But anyone dismissing the idea of KD is off their John Rocker.

A link to a quote from Dorsey saying this?

What's getting lost in all of this Dorsey talk is does he want the college coaching lifestyle at this point in time? This is the same guy that sat in his room every night when he was apart of the greatest team in college football history to watch film while his teammates were all out getting their peckers wet on South Beach and in the Grove.

There's a reason why he's turned down multiple on-field college coaching gigs (including a pretty **** good one at App State) to go be a QB's Coach in the NFL. You have to be a Type A, alpha personality to coach with Mario, and while there is zero doubt that the two have a great relationship and Dorsey wouldn't be a great coordinator at Miami, I really don't see their styles meshing or even KD wanting to come back to college, where he has to recruit, be in kids faces all day and night, etc.

I also don't think he's about the money either - which he'd very likely get more of at Miami - so with the way the offensive staff is shaping up, I'd be very surprised if he was the hire. He's going to be up for OC jobs in the NFL in the next few weeks with guys like Leslie Frazier and Brian Daboll being linked to HC gigs (and I'm sure he will be in play for others, so conventional wisdom is that he goes in the direction, but maybe I'm completely wrong on that.
