I’ve seen here that we are waiting on Coley to decide to coach TE here or not…but why still? It’s been weeks and he and Mario already know each other and respect each other it seems. Pretty easy to either accept or not accept at this point an offer to join the staff.

I agree that Brady likely isn’t coming here, I just don’t believe it’s because of McClendon as WR coach. At LSU, he had the title of Inside Wrs coach while Mickey Joseph was also the WR coach. Lincoln Riley also has been imploying the same model in his offensive scheme.
Brady was Passing Game Coordinator / WR at LSU .. fancier title.

I mean I’m sure they know his decision by now and probably have known for a while what Coley decided. We are just waiting to announce it for whatever reason, whoever it is.

I think the two offenses I mentioned didn’t have a “TE” coach. I think the TEs worked with the Inside WRs coach since they mainly worked inline. Don’t think it’ll happen here, but I was just referring to how it could still be Brady even with a WRs coach.
We’ll only have one spot left and it’s a oc/ qb coach. That’s why it can’t be Brady.

There are two guys who fit being OC/QB. And one of them in my eyes is realistic based on the RB coach we are chasing.
Guess the details are being worked out .. does Coley come in to coach TE's and Field moves to an off field position? Hopefully that's the only remaining issue on the offensive staff (and getting the RB coach signed from Ole Miss). Have to believe if Schumann is the DC .. he agreed weeks ago .. and they are just letting him finish the season. Not sure why however since Lanning is the Oregon HC and still calling plays for UGA.

I don't understand not announcing hires at this point. They have leaks locked down compared to before, but people are actually hired. Even recruits and transfer's being told the staff have kept it pretty tight. I thought Coley was coming, but it turned into crickets for me with him. Their is now smoke on Chud actually being hired instead of just advising as he has been doing. Their would be a real X's and O's hire. I want Rob in the program. I want him collaborating with the OC, QB's and Mario.
Where is this "smoke"?

It could be:

1. QB coach/OC
2. RB Coach
3. WR Coach/OC (B-Mac)
4. IWR/PGC (Brady)
5. OL Coach (Mirabal).

That’s similar to LSU’s 2019 season, with the exception of B-Mac’s Co-OC title. I don’t think it happens, but that fills the 5 staff member limit.

But that would insinuate that the OC hasn't been hired, which I thought he was? That also means RB coach is taken care of on such short notice?

If RB coach was already hired, that leads me to believe it's Briles/Smith duo, just working out last minute kinks.

No I’m going off of the staff. I believe it’s done , I’m just not saying the oc. Ive said oc is the one spot that I’m being conservative on. I’ve always said Briles looks / sounds too obvious and made me gun shy. Just being honest. The Smith smoke seems to legitimize that some though. I posted yesterday that’s legit smoke.

Lmao at Brady coming to Miami NOT as OC.

Not disputing what you're saying and agree completely with that approach. But for what it's worth, and I know it doesn't mean much given the source, but Ferman stated that *IF* Coley accepts a position here, he expects us to have 6 offensive coaches and 4 defensive coaches. Now, I'm not sure how prevalent that is across the CFB landscape but assumed, in that scenario, the offensive staff looks like:
  1. OC (TBD)
  2. Co-OC/WR (BMaC)
  3. OL/RGC (Mirabal)
  4. TE (Field)
  5. QB/AHC (Coley)
  6. RB (TBD)

Mario is smart enough to not have Coley calling plays

At least I hope he is
