Would you want Shane Waldron or Tim Kelly as our OC?
This! It’s unprofessional to announce it. I’m sure the whole staff is assembled at this point.
I was told way before Mario was hired that if he was hired he’d make a run at Ken. They have a good relationship and Mario thinks very highly of his football knowledge. I’m just not sure if Ken would leave after putting in years of work and if looking like his career might be going to the next level.
Mario and it being Miami is the only reason we’d have somewhat of a chance. I don’t see any other college job he’d be interested in.
As of today I’d lean towards it being Briles, there’s just too much smoke there , if nothing happens by early Jan with KB then you’d have to think it’s a Nfl guy.
Exactly...Tim Kelly got Davis Mills looking decent lol
i wasn’t being serious. those are two nfl passing game coordinators who are better candidates than dorsey but their name doesn’t get mentioned because they didn’t play here.GETSY? NAH.
Kafka? Maybe. But I'd take Bienemy over him
All great points, thanks for explaining your reasoning!Lots of reasons but like I said in this thread “ I like smart football people”.
I also like coaches that’s coached multiple positions. Mason has coached Db’s, wr’s, rb’s and even special teams. On top of being Ahc and a DC. He’s literally touched every part of the game.
On top of that he’s a great dc. He brings a toughness to every defense he’s coached.
Even his Vandy teams were hard nosed and physical. I always came away impressed by those teams.
His defenses at Stanford were everything you’d expect. He fits exactly the mind set Mario wants and what this program needs. A no nonsense teacher. And yes , he can recruit.
I don’t care if he’s a two gap or a one gap coach, there’s more than one way to skin a cat , plus this guy actually has a resume of success, unlike Al and his boyfriend .
Lastly it’s always a positive to have former head coaches on staff. From position coaches to Coordinators or even analysts.
Lmaoo yall find anything to ***** aboutI can’t get over the fact Mason pulled that publicly stunt last season at Vandy with the girl kicker.
That’s straight up embarrassing.
I am sure he is planning on bringing her to play LB too.I can’t get over the fact Mason pulled that publicly stunt last season at Vandy with the girl kicker.
That’s straight up embarrassing.
Because he isn’t winning MVP trophies and leading the 8th best passing attack in the league as its passing game coordinator.Exactly...
So how come no one wants him as OC?
That was the most embarrassing coaching move I’ve ever witnessed. I’d expect something like that out of Mandy.I am sure he is planning on bringing her to play LB too.
You think I’m wrong? That was an absolute disgrace.Lmaoo yall find anything to ***** about
Who gives a ****? She made both of her kicks. I’d take her over Baxa all day any day.You think I’m wrong? That was an absolute disgrace.
No, but it proves my point.Because he isn’t winning MVP trophies and leading the 8th best passing attack in the league as its passing game coordinator.
You love anecdotals don’t you?
I don’t want a coach who let a girl suit upI'm not sure Derek Mason would be an A+ slam dunk hire, but he'd be a solid hire. He had some pretty **** good defenses at Stanford. YPP in the Top 20 both years as a DC. Improved Auburn's YPP from 60th in 2020 to 34th in 2021.
To be fair, Vandy had some terrible defenses (save 2015), but its Vandy.
That was the type of stunt I expect from press clippings Diaz.I don’t want a coach who let a girl suit up

Pep Hamilton got him looking decent...Tim Kelly got Davis Mills looking decent lol
