Do you think football players are better today than in the 90s?

I'm with the other guy, I see huuuuuuuge jumps in skill and athleticism from modern NBA players. Not just the shooting. But yeah, when 1-5 are threats to sink a three, and some are dangerous from several feet beyond three, it changes how you have to play defense big time as well. There are some similarities to whats happened in football, where every part of the field now can be attacked. (by the way, really appreciate all that you provide on here for football, thanks!)
I think the rules changes in both sports make it harder to really compare that. In football, Defense has totally changed due to the rules. Offense has taken advantage of that.

Two different sports, apples to oranges.

And it depends on which player in particular you’re talking about.

Maybe yall are young, but there was plenty of highly skilled athletes in the 90’s.

The game was actually more high flying playing above the rim back then because the game was set around just floor spacing & launching 60 3’s a game. You had to actually score at the basket in the 90’s so athleticism was never an issue for that time.

Jordan & it’s not even close & I’ll stab anybody who says any different!

All you need is the "Lebron stopper " JJ Barrea to beat him. Dude lost 4-2 to Dirk and the Blowfish even though the team was a huge favorite. The debate died that day.
I couldn’t believe what I was seeing too. I would’ve taken the ball out of his scared hands and given it to Dwayne.

You really believe that Bill Wennington starts in today’s NBA? Is Judd Buschler a role player? Come on man. Let’s be real about this.
exactly lol..

Here's 19 year old Kobe dropping 33 on Jordan AND Pippen ( both guarded him this game) off the bench.

The amount of dead roster weight and one dimensional players available back then was astonishing. The league would have had zero answers for monsters like Lebron, KD, Curry, etc etc.

you all act like Basketball stopped in 2011. That's like me stopping with Jordan in 87-88. Dude won 4 rings after that , evolved his game to the point a 73 win championship team felt the need to add KD to ensure Lebron wouldnt have a chance.

And? I watched Kobe drop 30 or more on some of the best defenders the game had to offer and he did it in his sleep. Him dropping 33 on Jordan and Pippen means absolutely nothing to the fact that Jordan worked for his name while Lebron has hade a golden spoon in his mouth since he was 16. I watched the 6’8 phenom wilt at the sight of a 7’0 German with bad knees. Never in a million years would that have happened with Michael.
