…uh first chick has a USC jersey on…
The man had a litany of future all-pro players at LSU and won a NC, then went on to the NFL to do nothing but be arrogant and be overrated. Ask me why people are begging for him to be our OC is beyond me at this point.Joe Brady was garbage as the Panther's OC. That's just a fact.
Coaches with garbage results get recycled all the time in the NFL, so I wouldn't be surprised if he lands something.
But he's not some "hot commodity" that NFL teams are "salivating" over like some of the posters on here were claiming in December.
No car washes like that around my area. ****. God Bless. This place needed a moral boost.
If this happens my therapist might finally let me kill myselfWaiting this long will amplify any questionable hire.
Imagine a 10-week long drumroll and then Frank Ponce walks out on stage.
Big pressure on Mario right now.
Thanks. He said something recently…along the lines of “it would be hard to commit” without knowing who was going to be the DC.
MOST CONTRACTS have what is called a SETBACK PROVISION. Coach is owed $15.4 million buyout on being fired: 50% paid on termination; balance paid in 3 annual installments over a 3 year period. So he is owed basically $2.6 million per year for 3 years (having received $7.7 on termination). Any coaching job he takes DURING THAT 3 YEAR PERIOD ... will be subject to the setback provision: He gets a job for $2.0 million per year .. that is subtracted from the $2.6 million owed by the school, the school pays him $600K . and COMBINED he receives his $2.6 million per season . That is the normal provision.I don't know the details of Herman's contract, but I believe it's common in some contracts for the University to be relieved of paying ANYTHING once the fired HC accepts a new job (you assume they still have to pay the difference, but I don't think that's true).
So if Herman accepted a job at Miami, Texas might not have to pay any more buyout money, regardless of Herman's contract size here. So he's actually choosing between 1.5m versus 5M.
Pep Hamilton is good. His offense isn't the most appealing since it's more of pro-style offense but his offense is effective and efficient. Pep is a red zone killer too. He’s a great QB coach…. No doubt
Not great OC…. Feel free to prove otherwise

Would like to say acceptance and hope, but still anger and bargaining. 2 decades of justified mopery are hard to crawl out of.If everyone could respond to this I’d appreciate it.
I’d like to know which petard we’re hoisting Mario onto by day’s end. I have a long weekend ahead of me and I want to make sure I’m running with the angriest herd.
Always been a question of mine as well. Like if the coach is that good why not structure a deal that way. What do you have to lose.I have always wondered with the coaches who get fired and then get paid as long as they dont take another job or the difference if they do, what is to stop the next school from signing a multi year deal with them and structuring it so that it is almost all paid in the backend.
For example (with made up numbers), let's say Herman has 2 more years that Texas is paying him $5M per year, but it is offset by any new jobs he takes. Miami is willing to pay Herman $2M per year for a guarunteed 2 years. Rather than giving him a contract for $2M in 2022 and 2023, why not give him a guaranteed contract that is 200K in 2022 and 2023 and then $4M in 2024 and 2025 with a buyout after 2023 that would pay him $2M in 2024 in 2025 if we were to fire him or he was to leave. So essentially he still gets his full UT salary for 2022 and 2023 and in 2024 and 2025 he gets his salary for those years plus $2M per year for the previous two.
I have to assume that if I am smart enough to think of this, that the lawyers that make these contracts are as well and are able to block this somehow.
I thought I had heard about offsetting, but perhaps I was wrong and that would make sense from the schools perspective. Honestly I think it is silly that any guarantees are based on whether or not the coach gets another job somewhere else, but if the coach is willing to agree to it...I don't know the details of Herman's contract, but I believe it's common in some contracts for the University to be relieved of paying ANYTHING once the fired HC accepts a new job (you assume they still have to pay the difference, but I don't think that's true).

This was my recollection as well, but I also wouldnt be surprised if it is different contract to contract.I always thought it was contingent on it being rhe same level of position. Like another HC job. I rember Charlie strong worked for like 500k year one at South Florida and made Texas pay out his salary from previous contract. The 500k was deducted. I wanted Herman as my #1 choice. Great offense big time recruiter. 2 guys behind TVD are athletic and would benefit from the power spread. Who know what he picked up in the NFL.
So you've never seen a game thread?Been on cis for a long time. A lot of **** Miami football and Miami athletics in general. This thread Is the saddest one I’ve seen.
Do you know who runs offense at Carolina. The man had a litany of future all-pro players at LSU and won a NC, then went on to the NFL to do nothing but be arrogant and be overrated. Ask me why people are begging for him to be our OC is beyond me at this point.
