Or more likely, he has already done all his due diligence and extended his offer and identified his backups. Ball is not in his court. So, he can focus on recruiting

Is it stress or do you just have a mind that works that way? I say that because I've always had spurts of productivity where I got a day's work done in 2 hours, then was just mentally spent for a while. That's over a 35 year career.
