I agree with you regarding the pro style approach, but just because Dorsey is in the NFL, it doesn't mean he runs a pro style offense. The Bills generally run way less than most teams in the NFL - they're almost always featuring 3-4 wideouts and incorporate the short passing game as run plays essentially, utilizing Sanders' elusiveness and Diggs' explosiveness (Gabriel too). I wouldn't mind that offense at all.

That being said, Dorsey is well behind Briles for me.

A case can be made for Dorsey, I don't think it's completely nonsense.

However, bottom line, Briles is a proven commodity. Dorsey is not. Simple as that. No need to overcomplicate things.

That is a big problem. Yes they are running a Pro Spread but they have no running game. Briles is a 50/50 run/pass playcaller and we know Mario will still want to run the ball. The only way we will ever be able to beat big time programs is by being productive at both running and passing the ball. When defenses take one away we have to be able to do the other and make them pay for it.

Amen!

What is amazing to me is after all of the years that we were unproductive running a pro style and then we convert to a more simplistic spread so our athletes can be athletes vice thinking too much (and being slower) and folks want to revert right back to it. KISS (keep it simple stupid - and fast for that matter).

Not many NFL teams run pro style anymore. That era is fading away.

You’re telling me you don’t think there’s a single OC out there we can snag in the country that’s an A+ hire…

And yet you want Hurtt for DC and Peppy Le Pew for QB Coach.

Steve Martin Idk GIF
When did I say I wanted hurtt for DC? I just said his name has been brought up

So we just converted from Pro Style to a real college football offense, got way more production and you want to convert right back to a pro style, which helped put our program in the shape it was in because we were holding on to the past due to winning championships with the Pro Style before college football moved on without it.

We don't need the pro style anywhere near this program again. We don't need Dorsey nor Pep Hamilton anywhere near our athletes.

How many years did we hear this or that QB couldn't learn the playbook or this or that WR ran the wrong pattern or this QB expected the WR to do something different. That is why we need a college football offense. Lashlee's offense is simplistic yet TVD had to catch up to it. Imagine if this was a significantly more difficult to learn pro style. We finally have an offense that was simple to learn for college athletes and we don't have WR's running the wrong routes etc.

On top of it it is easier to recruit to the spread vs the Pro Style because you don't have to recruit all of the absolute highest football IQ players. Our athletes get to be athletes instead of thinking too much. If you want a bunch of our roster to turn over and leave the program we will convert to the pro style again. These players committed to come here and play in a wide open spread offense and you want the pro style? Our roster is set up for the spread. We already don't have the best OL to block for a pro style offense either.
Just because we hire a NFL guy doesn't mean he's coming to run a Pro Style system

Dorsey is a nerdy introvert and has no business trying to recruit. He has likely stuck in the NFL because he doesn't want to recruit. Other than that, college football has moved on from the typical Pro Style, outside of the Pro Spread that Brady ran at LSU. UGAs one thing holding them back is the traditional Pro Style they run. UGA would have already beat Bama by now had they opened up the offense, especially if retarded @ss Smart kept fields instead of Fromme. Now Smart has a crappy QB starting who got exposed by Bama starting over JT Daniels. That played a big part of them getting obliterated by Bama.
If you think the Bills run pro style you need to watch more games.

So Lake mentioned Derek Mason and Charlie Partridge today so I’m guessing that Schumann is getting playcalling duties.

i dont care whether he can recruit. we need good, technical coaches that know how to teach and develop. let the recruiting to others.

by the way, i'm not a fan of bringing in Dorsey for the OC job. just want to comment on the recruiting issue
