No they cannot stop the myth cuz then they have to admit that this is reaching unnecessary territoryBut did he?
Mario's Oregon OC 1 - 0 days (retained Arroyo from Taggart's staff)
Mario's Oregon DC 1 - 0 days (retained Leavitt from Taggart's staff)
Mario's Oregon DC 2 - 14 days between firing Leavitt on February 13 and hiring Avalos on February 28
Mario's Oregon OC 2 - 41 days between Arroyo taking HC job at UNLV on December 11 and hiring Moorhead on January 21; however, Moorhead was hired 18 days after he became available after being fired on January 3
Mario's Oregon DC 3 - 14 days between Avalos taking HC job at Boise State on January 8 and hiring DeRuyter on January 22
Today is January 20. If Mario hires an OC this week, it will still be in line with the ANNOUNCEMENT DATES of all of his Oregon coordinator hires (not retentions) with the exception of when he fired Leavitt in February.
Can we please stop Human Centipeding this ridiculous "Mario took forever to hire coordinators at Oregon" myth?
This board would go on full nuclear mode if that happens.Time is a flat circle…my guess is Chud
IIRC, they had a difference of opinion on something, it grew into a verbal spat and Addae, dared to defend himself in front of others. That embarrassed Kirby.Didn’t Kirby want to replace him at UGA? What’s the back story there?
Would be worth the price of admission, sadly enoughThis board would go on full nuclear mode if that happens.
Portal is an L right now but that’s subject to change; this wave has talented guys, we just need to land some. Anyone who thinks we’re having success in that department is seriously delusional. We needed guys like DJ James, Verse, Jones, I could go on…you can say “oh MaYbE MaRIo DiDNt WAnT tHEm MOpe”…he wouldn’t have offered if he didn’t. It’s ok to admit current drawbacks with his strategy while still having hope for a turnaround.Agreed. Here comes the mad rush in to scold you with many words instead of just saying “trust Mario” which is the same thing as “**** manny”…. Don’t actually discuss anything good and bad, just condemn or condescend like posters shouldn’t be able to discuss positives and negatives.
Why is it hard to say:
- Moss: Big W
- Coleman: L
- Candle: L
- Raymond/TRob: L
- Kelly: W
- Skinner: W
- Portal: L
Based on today. That’s they score for those with many other positives and negatives and great structure being laid, etc. Not sure why it can’t be reasonably discussed.
How far down could this have possibly gotten???Bump
Chud is always the question. Never the answerTime is a flat circle…my guess is Chud
Not at all imho, Mike said Miami did not offer him the job before Candle turned us down. Not after. Not sure what makes me more upset: Briles turning us down or the fact that Briles wanted to come here and we didn't offer.
Anyway. Mike has been the guy, so I'll ride with him on this. But this does sound like spin/damage control.
You think that seals the deal for a 2023 recruit on January 22, 2022? You guys are a hoot.Screams of incompetence as the weeks go by. Yes the 6 hour search by Blake for manny was a **** show but that’s one side of the extreme incompetence spectrum. We are now entering the other side of incompetence from a timing standpoint. Biggest junior day in the country by a mile with no:
Coordinators, db coach, (official) TE coach, and LB coach..... BRILLIANT!
How do you know that those are the only candidates interviewed? Because you read it on twitter?Mario spent 6 weeks interviewing and courting Candle and Briles only to be turned down/not offered. Eek...
And we don't have a DC, so I imagine something similar is going on there (can't get his top candidate or two to accept).
And we have 3 positions coaches for our biggest recruiting weekend in a long time.
Not sure how anyone spins this positively. But I remain hopeful. Get the right hires and no one will ever think about the Great Wait.
