I’ve tried to talk people off the ledges. The names I’ve heard are all good hires, meaning I’d be happy with any of them. That’s why I’ve been been positive with the whole thing. I know people expect the worst after the last two decades but I’ve said this is different and the proof is now in the pudding. Here’s my line of thinking on the OC if anyone cares…

I know Candle is far and away option number 1

Mario was signed/sealed/delivered to Miami but it dragged out an entire weekend and into Monday so he could address his team.

Toledo returns to campus today I think - keeping it under wraps gives Candle time to address his team and staff in person. Mario probably wouldn’t hire him unless he felt the same way and wanted to do that for his guys.

Jimmy Sexton got wind of it going down - used it as a last chance effort to get a raise for Briles.

This is all me trying to piece together what is happening. Not putting a stamp on this saying it’s exactly what happened.

Yeah, probably Mario and Rad spoke with Briles and expressed interest, but didn't actually offer the job. Briles saw he was likely plan B or C and just used the situation to get a raise and then tell Miami he's no longer interested...knowing he probably wouldn't have gotten hired anyway.

I felt kinda bad that I couldn’t get anything on the coordinators , it took me digging enough to know all the people saying the knew the coordinators and that they were hired were full of ****. I’ve still got my rocks off with portal commits and the other staff hirings. After Feldmans Manny buyout tweet I was disappointed in him and his info.

I would think that Cristobal would talk to Highsmith about Hurtt. He is a great recruiter, but I have no idea about as a coordinator. Highsmith would probably know a lot more, if he thought he had what it took, or if it was a bad idea.

I know he was 100 % a candidate for a olb / DL and maybe co dc role. I posted that when all this started, he was a name I was hearing. I never heard play caller though. Never.
