He put up 30 points and 429 yards on Manny's defense in 2017
SECURED
Rutting season is over, spray bottle engagedJUICYYYY
No I think this is was in response to why Toledo fans wouldn't be upset if he left
Toledo gained 679yds of total offense (458 passing & 221 rushing..) this game.Based on those highlights, there doesn’t seem to be too much movement or misdirection in his Offense. Definitely strives on big plays.
I guess people want Nick Saban as OC lolBecause of poor defenses. How would that be a concern as OC?
Again, he's not being hired as a HC
He’s reportedly hit up some P5 schools regarding their HC vacancies, and there was No takers. Maybe this is his way of getting his foot in the door or getting some P5 eyes on him.Yeah, I’m where you’re at. He’s been at Toledo for 6 years and has done well. I would not be surprised if P5 comes calling soon for HC jobs. Now he’d take an OC gig?
Yards per play as HCScoring offense rankings
2021: 27th (HC)
2020: 20th (HC)
2019: 82nd (HC)
2018: 12th (HC)
2017:16th (HC)
2016: 19th (HC)
2015: 25th (OC/QB)
2014: 21st (OC/QB)
2013: 33rd (OC/WR)
2012: 45th (OC/WR)
Apparently calls plays as HC. Of course this stat doesn't tell the whole story (efficiency, yard per play, etc) but consistent record of putting out productive offenses.
Have you seen what's he's done with the QBs he has had? That's developing guys. Logan Whiteside was killing people.Really wanted a guy who had a proven track record of coaching and developing the QB position, but it would still be a great hire
We would be doubling his pay.. but yes it’s career driven decision.
I believe he has NFL HC aspirations (end all goal for him)
Good find. Interesting that they have a new AD. He would def be coaching for his job this year. 1st blush it seems like the right time to hit the reset button. If his goal is a P5 hc or NFL OC job, we are set up very well to be a bridge to that.Yeah this article kind of spells it out: https://news.yahoo.com/david-briggs-toledos-candle-officially-045900854.html
Great OC. Questionable HC.
Actually, this is even better because Lashlee never put up this kind of production as the primary playcaller BEFORE he got to Miami. People forget that he was working under Malzahn and Dykes, guys that have a heavy hand in the O.This is the equivalent of hiring Rhett Lashlee, which worked out great for us
Tennessee was known for it back in the day - the girls were call the Orange Pride.Haven’t hostesses been doing this for forever with recruits in SEC?
Just wait for it! It’s coming!
Looks like he may have been the one to initiate contact with Mario. The mutual agent adds more intrigue.David Briggs: Toledo's Candle is officially up against the clock
Dec. 19—That sound you hear, Toledo fans? It's the sands of paradise beginning to whoosh through the hourglass. After the Rockets' bewildering 31-24 loss to Middle Tennessee State in the Bahamas Bowl, coach Jason Candle is officially up against the clock. If that wasn't clear after UT finished...news.yahoo.com
let's not forget that Whipple is an esteemed UM alum. he had a spectacular career at UM as a passer.Him and Dorsey are above this job. “If” we landed eorher it would be a huge pickup on Miami’s part. The only reason we would have a chance is obvious. Dorsey also having a very close relationship with Mario on top of being a Cane. Whipple has shot up the coaching ranks because he’s a brilliant dude. Anyone that knew the guy said he’d be a coach. He‘ll be an NFL oc very soon. I don’t get his logic coming here unless he wants to coach in college.
