Within spread concept, I am most concerned with whether we are putting in a bunch of reps at executing in the passing game on these type of things things:

What I don't prefer is a guy that doesn't emphasize QB-WR execution reps and has a system that wrecks teams like Duke and Virginia and gets fat and lazy going fast in the run game and hitting easy throws and then we get into real big boy playoff time and this happens:

Be able to run, even go run heavy if the matchups dictate, but I want a guy who is very comfortable going pass heavy, uses the practice reps on it and recruits guys with the skill set to handle that because otherwise I worry you are optimizing for putting 60 on Wake Forest moreso than beating Clemson, Bama, Georgia etc.

Good share, man. I agree with your preference for a QB-WR execution scheme. The point that stood out to me was:

5. The biggest difference, in my opinion, between Riley’s offense and Josh Heupel’s is that number of plays. "His offense doesn’t have too many plays or concepts, the focus is on execution. Art Briles’ offense at Baylor is similar in that way. There aren’t all that many similarities with Baylor in terms of the actual plays that are used, but they both take a handful of passing concepts and perfect them so that they can have success with them regardless of what the defense does.

Focusing on a small number of concepts is what allows the players to learn and perfect them through constant repetition."

I am not clear on your use of the UCF vs. LSU matchup. It looks like LSU wanted to maintain their overhangs, which yielded some one-on-one matchups. However, UCF's execution, i.e. drops, was lacking. If that is your point re: execution, I agree.

As for play design, I wonder if there is an ISO spread system that uses normal or close to normal splits. The reason I focus on splits is because I like to keep double teams, and counters on the table. I was a fan of some of Lashlee's pin-and-pull blocking concepts for inside runs.

BTW, I love the Burrow to Chase play at 5:56. I don't need my QB running the ball 20x per game but running often enough so that, when he steps forward as Burrow did, the LB's are frozen, allowing completion of the skinny post.

I actually read every page on the threads I just see which comments has reactions if I’m too many pages behind to get through it quickly

Dude flamed out hard in the NFL.

**** his demands. Have Mario give @Liberty City El a call and ask him which obscure young Air Raid OC he should hire.
One of the more ignorant posts I have seen. "Flamed out", had no QB, WRs' injured, no roster to work with, and a coach that had his own scheme. Not a good recipe. LOOK AT WHAT HE DID at LSU:

-In 2018 with Burrows and the same 3 primary WR's as 2019 .. LSU had 2970 passing yards and 17 passing TD's

Ensminger .. the OC .. wanted to modify the offensive playbook to include aggressive SPREAD components .. but he didn't know how .. HIS WORDS. He hired Brady as "Passing Game Coordinator" to come in and ... modify the offense, add spread concepts, COACH THE WR'S and to call plays as follows according to Ensminger"

-"when we go empty .. 5 WR's and bunch sets .. I say "Joe its yours" and he calls the plays. Same with 3rd down situations and in the Red Zone.

-In 2019, with Brady sitting along side Ensminger and calling plays in CRITICAL MOMENTS (empty sets, 3rd downs and red zone):

-Passing yards increased to 6024 and passing TD's increased to 61 (from 17).
-Rush yards increased from 2274 to 2813 so the pass game didn't ignore the run.
-LSU had the #1 offense
-LSU had the #2 passing offense
-Lsu had #2 red zone offense
-LSU had the #4 3rd down conversion %

Brady's addition to the LSU offensive PLAY CALLING STAFF ended up in LSU setting a record for passing yards, TDS and offensive production.

Football Scoop awarded the "2019 Offensive Coordinator of The Year" award to Ensminger and Brady .. first time they ever had two people share the award.
Brady at UM with TVD / Garcia and a couple of portal OL and WR's would absolutely destroy every passing record that exists in the ACC.
