Lol I just realized Ponce was OC when I played against his team in high school. La Progresiva. We beat him 32-0. He's obviously not qualified.

Again, I'm not hoping for him. I'd rather Briles..or someone similar...but is that what Mario wants?
 
This is taking so long, We're going to end up with Kirk Herbstreit aren't we ?
Good news is He likes us and has called a chit ton of games !

He told me he just completed a core ab workout while listening to some Queen. Now it’s time for him to unwind with a nice sponge bath. I think he’s meeting Kenneth for dinner later. There’s a new ***** spot they want to check out.

Briles isn't air raid either from what I understand. But again he is the **** name. Personally I trust Mario to pick his coordinators. He has a track record of picking talented coaches as well as talented players. I just want it to be over and ready to roll with whoever he picks.

$2million dollar budget for a top tier OC & the best we can come up with is fckin Frank Ponce???

When you think of an offense that can take us from being 7-5, to being an ACC contender, is App St’s offense the first thing that comes to mind??

Aside from his relationship with Mario, why would anyone want Ponce as our OC when we literally have the best QB in the ACC? We’re trying to win the Coastal & have a shot at the ACCCG, not just be a serviceable 8-4 team.

It would be the equivalent of Nick Saban hiring Mike Bobo as his OC when Bama can literally afford any OC they want.

It’s settling, not exceeding. That’s an old Miami hire, not a new Miami hire...
(And I mean the new new Miami, not the old new Miami lol)

I agree with all this.

But, in terms of actual scheme + coaching, is Ponce any good?

Someone reported that the OC and DC are men, so that would eliminate Sara Lee or Little Debbie. Famous Amos for OC and the Pepperidge Farm guy for DC?
