If it came from Mario’s lips that he wants the staff in place before the dead period ends, I have a hard time believing this would be the case.

Although I guess there are technicalities regarding "in place" vs. "publicly announced", so maybe we won't get anything...who knows at this point. Seems like no one really knows.
Amazing! This thread is over a month old with multiple references to the staff being done and elite….. very exciting

…until D$ illuminated us yesterday….

Yeah and again I think that's where a majority of the frustration comes from - the fact that we were waiting on an impending announcement under the circumstances that this was finished in early January. Of course it makes sense now if it wasn't finalized, that there'd be no announcement to make. It's understandable, but in the end we just have to assume he'll hit the mark on all the hires - if he doesn't...there's a lot of explaining that needs to be done.

A couple of good signs:
1. We are currently hiring top notch assistants. We took the cream of the crop from Oregon and just added a great coach in Smith, with tons of ties to South Florida and seems to be a very solid and respected recruiter. I'd be hard pressed to believe we hired these great assistants, and fail miserably at the coordinator positions.

2. The fact that we are slowly announcing these assistant coaches, I tend to believe the coordinators are either done, or essentially done. I can't recall many instances where the OC or DC didn't have at least a say in his supporting cast; I know Lashlee has been brought up in that most of the guys he brought were quality control assistants, but it's not a very popular method (someone can correct me if I'm talking out of my keyster on this one).

Maybe there's certain clauses in coaches' contracts that need to be worked out (either NFL or collegiate level), or coaches need a timeframe to tell their old employers or family that they're taking this job - I really don't know. But I am optimistic this gets handled this week, as Mario has hammered home the importance of this recruiting window; plus Cribby stated recently that we're currently focusing more on these high school prospects than the transfer window. I'm sure a lot of these guys want to know who they'll be playing for and what system.

Likely the case. I hope we’re not focusing on the portal - otherwise it would mean we’re getting our asses kicked - which couldn’t be the case….

So .. the latest and most up to date information we have from the most well connected legit insiders is "Mario has this coordinator hire on lockdown"? No legit IDEAS of currently viable candidates (top 3 for each position)? We are STILL at "Brady, Dorsey, Briles" on the OC side and "Schumann / Belk" on the DC side? No timeline except "we believe Mario wants it done before the dead period is finished (tomorrow!!)? Crazy!

Some rumblings in Bama land that Pruitt is coming back there to be their DC. Likely opens up Golding as an option.
JayCane did drop that little tidbit last night about Goulding's family being Canes fans...I know it's not a lot, but would be interesting.

Maybe that UF **** on their site wasn't just spewing straight garbage.

That Hurtt is debunked with Salave’a being the run game coordinator. Why would we give a title away that would supposed to be Hurtt’s strength.

Salave'a is run game coordinator.
Hurtt will be wildcat game coordinator.
T-Rob will be Statue of Liberty double-reverse triple-lateral flea-flicker coordinator.

DVD gets a new snapback and a free bowl of soup. In July.

Golding > Schumann imo

Dude grinded his way through smaller schools such as UTSA before getting the Bama DC job. It's not like their defense was the reason they lost the National Championship.
