He said 5 stars, you’re wasting your time. Blue chip prospects are 4-5* and I believe it’s like the top 250 or 300 prospects out of 1000s of them.

First ppl were still coaching in bowls games and didnt want to interrupt. Now it’s we might be waiting on some NFL ppl or something.

Mario apparently likes to take longer than most to make his hires. Don’t think it’s a real advantage like some think or some special formula. Also not saying its a bad thing.

I mean, that was my understanding of it as well until I was schooled apparently. At first it was 5*, now it's top 100 kids. Next it may be limited to just the top 63 kids. Who knows anymore?

Especially with the transfer portal imo - I mentioned this in another thread, but you can sell high school recruits about playing time and make other promises, etc...with established portal guys, they want to be developed and sent to the league right? Can't do that the longer we go without announcing a staff. Telling guys who will be on the staff, and actually announcing it are completely different things. We've seen time and time again, coaches saying they're coming and doing a 180 elsewhere, have to see it to believe it.

Still think we should hear by Wednesday, if not...something's going on.

I agree. Recruiting portal guys is different than high school players. We need a staff in place to attract top tier portal targets. Mario has shown that he can effectively recruit high school players by himself. Portal guys, however, require detailed information from position coaches and coordinators on exactly how they are going to be utilized to improve their chances of playing at the next level.

With that said, we should hear something this week.

To me a blue chip has more to do with a can’t miss prospect. Depending on the position, need for that position and coaching evaluation will determine blue chip.

Blissaine was a can’t miss prospect. He’s not top 50 in the nation overall but he’s a blue chip lb imo

Anyone in the top 10 at there position is a blue chip really, regardless of where they fall in overall rankings
