I admit to knowing very little regarding schemes / playcalling etc. and don't watch very much CFB outside of the Canes. But I found the following interesting for what it's worth:
Team | PTS / GM | Pass Att / GM | Pass YDS / Gm | Rush ATT / GM | Rush YDS / GM | Total Plays / GM | Total YDS / GM |
Tennessee / Golesh | 39.3 | 28.8 | 257.2 | 44.4 | 217.5 | 73.2 | 474.6 |
Notre Dame / Rees | 35.2 | 34.8 | 282.5 | 34.6 | 143.3 | 69.4 | 425.8 |
Miami / Lashlee | 34.1 | 38.7 | 321.2 | 34.3 | 128.8 | 72.9 | 449.9 |
Ole Miss / Kiffin | 33.7 | 32.8 | 274.4 | 45.4 | 218 | 78.2 | 492.4 |
Oregon / Moorehead | 31.4 | 29.4 | 221.9 | 38.2 | 201.7 | 67.6 | 423.6 |
Arkansas / Briles | 30.9 | 24.2 | 213.9 | 44.9 | 228.5 | 69.9 | 442.5 |
Some of the most "desired" names that have been bandied around here (Golesh, Briles, and Kiffin as HC) run offenses that are far more run-oriented based on plays / gm whereas the newest rumored name, Rees is far more balanced.
Obviously, this is without any context but the fact that Golesh run 16 more times / gm than pass and Briles runs more than 20 times more / gm than pass was eye-opening for me.
