Not trolling at all. Those dudes were old school with the recruiting process and how they approached the game here at Miami. Kitchens, J Williams, D Chaney, J George are guys who remind me of that type of dude we’ve desperately been missing. No BS dudes who perform at a high level.

The idea that previously athletes were making zero dollars and now they're collectively making anywhere between $1M and $30M at each power 5 school is an indication that the bag game existed before. This kind of market doesn't spring up overnight because the rules changed. There was a black market, as often appears when regulations try to stop people from making transactions that they want to (see: drugs, prostitution, regular goods in Cuba and Venezuela, etc...), and it was probably smaller than what currently exists due to risk aversion on the part of players and donors, but it most definitely existed.
