He is better than McDaniels. I watched both. O'Brien is better. He installed the 2 TE offense, the Hoss Y Juke play that won the Patriots the Super Bowl and brought life back into Brady after his ACL injury.

McDaniels has stretches of greatness, followed by "lets run up the middle on 4th and 1" or "lets call a play action pass on 2nd and 20" or "let me run Brandon Bolden on a toss play on 3rd and 2". His playcalling has absolutely fell off a cliff after 2017.

And dont let me even start with McDaniels reluctancy to install RPOs into the Patriots offense, his inability to get Jonnu Smith involved or refusing to understand that first down runs into loaded boxes are stupid.
Why would he install rpo lol that goes against the entire offense the patriots run. I agree he should’ve got jonnu more involved but he had a qb who was learning on the job last year and now a rookie. The offense is gonna get better next year with him or obrien because mac is gonna be more comfortable.

The patriots offense takes time to gel, it adapts as good as any offense, its jus not the typical spread offense, its about pre snap reads and timing for it to look like a well oiled machine. Mcdaniels will do well with the raiders weapons

Thats exactly my point. Why in the **** is New England the only team somehow restricted to what they can and cant run? They werent restricted in running a ****load of veer options in 2020, but they still did that, right? RPOs are the most dangerous weapon football has to offer, you have a QB being really good in these and you dont run them because it goes against of what New England runs? It doesnt make sense whatsoever, you are installing stuff to make life for your QB easy and not hard. The offense should be centered around what a QB can and cant do and not be a stubborn stick to what the scheme is. Especially when your offense is the one New England should be running scheme-wise.

New England spent 34 million dollars for two tight ends and ranked 27th in usage rate for 2 TE-sets. McDaniels barely bothered and barely tried. Raiders are in for a rude awakening.

"refusing to understand that first down runs into loaded boxes are stupid."

Y’all aren’t the only team that runs a offense like that bro lol, brady literally took that offense to the bucs and had a career year because he has it mastered. SF runs something similar, **** even gruden did in vegas before he got fired.

Those offenses get better over time when the QB gets the timing and the correct pre snap reads down. I know everybody else is flashy but that offense works , and I think mac is gonna keep growing with it. It took brady time to really master it, im not saying mac will get near that level but he’s just a rookie and played well until late in the year. The two TE sets will come with time, in vegas renfrow and waller are gonna eat, I think he’s more prepared now than when he left the 1st time

All of the top offenses use RPOs. New England does not and its a mistake.

Should be a staple.

SF and The rams dont run it much, again u dont have mahomes or josh allen lol. I know RPOs are the new shiny toy thing in modern football but u dont need it to have a top offense and thats probably not the path to maximize mac. Its funny thats even a criticism of an offense 😂😂like i understand u criticizing his sequencing and situational stuff but rpos? Lol thats hilarious

LOL you literally shamed a dude into ghosting this thread. The subtle power of @RVACane

You can get that on any block at every mediocre slice join in every neighborhood in NYC. Let's step it up...

To start, I present the world-famous "soho slice" from Prince St. Pizza. You might recognize it because everyone copies it. If there is enough interest here, I will be taking you all on a city-wide tour of the best there is until we have coordinators. Just be warned this isn't a subjective discussion. Let's ride.

How? NFL teams dont run it enough and its no coincidence teams perform better offensively when running them. The Eagles ran it with ******* Nick Foles and won the Super Bowl with it. Just because NFL teams dont run it much doesnt mean it shouldnt be a staple. Took teams forever to understand how important it is to throw the football down the field...

Outside of that, 49ers and Rams run it at similar rates. And the 49ers offense isnt that good. So I dont get the point you are trying to make here...

Take Miami for example. They were crap on offense. They ran RPOs as a massive staple afterwards and have a big winning streak as a result.

And again, you tailor the offense around your QBs strengths. Mac Jones took everyone apart reading the RPO correctly in college. So take that and implement that into your offense. Its not that hard.

To summarize, Belk seems to be the leading DC candidate but there’s a few details both parties are hung up on. Campanile is the backup with conflicting reports that he actually has an offer on the table.

For offense, there’s really not much to report as far as candidates and rumors. Dorsey will be taking an NFL OC job. Brady has legit interest as an NFL OC so we can move on from that one too. That leaves us with a guy like Ponce or preferably someone like Coen.
