Mario still has this 100% under wraps? No leaks ANYWHERE? Insiders ... any smoke whatsoever that announcements are pending prior to NSD? A bit frustrating to say the least. You would think a key coordinator hire might pull in a recruit or two that he had prior relationships with ( if it's a college guy).

Yes it is guaranteed lol there’s 8 openings. He’s getting one.
I would imagine the Giants would be a front runner given they just hired a assistant GM from Buffalo to be their GM.
Teams been losing to prevent defenses for ages yet with all the analytical information coaches still do that crap. Like look at the defense KC defensive coordinator chooses to run with the game on the line. There’s no way I’m playing that far off. You begging to allow what eventually happened
This hate the prevent defense. Especially when you are playing someone like Hill. You are basically begging them to dump off to him and then let him do what he does. You play straight up D for 58 minutes and then at the end you are just going to let them complete 10 to 15 yard passes just so you do not get beat deep.

So, no Candle, Brady, Dorsey, Ponce or Coley.

What are some other names to watch?

Ohhh, Brian Johnson from Eagles.

So you guys are saying that Shemar deciding either tamu or jsu is gonna be all on Mario and his lack of having a coordinator. Even though a top coordinator can bounce in a year or two just like they do at Bama.

You guys are acting like this Mo dude isn’t out there giving all kinds of interviews and they basically just dropped the excuse bomb cause it worked for Coleman.

Do you want to know why I wouldn’t drop a name if I was Mario? Cause no matter who it is there will he tweets and message board gurus who will sht all over the pick.

Dorsey, Ponce, Brady, Briles, you name it and it doesn’t matter.
There will be 50 pages about how bad each one sucks.
So why pile on all the negativity before nsd. Either you want to play as a cane under Mario or you don’t.

Mario ain’t going anywhere. Twill, trob, shop manny lashlee all gone. Position coaches and coordinators know they will bounce if a hc job or a frontrunner comes calling.

Dude.

If there's a perception that we missed out on recruits next week due to lack of coordinators it's not going to be a good look. The argument people make, "what's more important, one recruit or getting the coordinators right?", I think is a flawed argument. It suggests you have to pick one or the other. I think it's very reasonable to assume someone can hire excellent coordinators, or have them locked down with an agreement, in the time frame Mario has had.

Maybe he has it all figured out and the people are all coming from the NFL or whatever, but based on information we have available it doesn't look that way. It looks like he's struggling to finalize people.

Curious to those Disagree with Ponce. Who are you thinking? James Coley??
Hate that I’m discussing this and I still have confidence that Mario will get a better OC than either of these two… but

Ponce would be a better hire than Coley. Ponce didn’t have a terrible year in his first year calling plays, so even though it’s a big risk because we really don’t have a track record to evaluate, I’m hoping it works out. I would give Ponce time and evaluate his result before *****ing BUT I have serious doubts.

If Coley is the hire, which I doubt, I’d be very disappointed. Unlike Ponce, Coley has a track record, and it’s littered with ****.

In short, a lot of us think Ponce is bad. But all of us know Coley is bad.

Plz, someone make a logical argument why Ponce would be a good OC here...waited all this time and flaunted $1.7M for Ponce is an absolute joke.

Honestly only reason I keep rehashing his name is no others are being mentioned now. We all can conclude, Brady, Dorsey, Candle and Briles are out.

Ponce is everything we were told to fear about a Mario offense.

He wasted Herbert running a ground and pound, ball control attack.

Ponce’s offense this season finished around 50th in F+. Top 30 in down to down success rate. Outside the Top 70 in explosiveness.

Basically the same ground and pound conservative bull**** that Oregon fans complained about.

Titans should’ve destroyed Cincy but tannehill sucks so you get the finish you got.

Packers offense after 1st drive goes into the can and allow the niners to stick around and they pull it out.

Rams let off the gas in the worse way playing not to lose almost had them get just that.

Chiefs and Bills I always had down to whoever got ball last. Mahomes and Allen are other worldly right now
So Titans forcing the ball to Henry who was obviously not ready looking slow and plodding and not nearly explosive as Foreman did didn't matter at all? You know that average Bengal defense that stoned Henry including a pivotal 4th and 1 and failed 2 punt conversion. Everyone likes to point to the INTs(2 on deflections) but the story of the game was that mediocre Bengal run defense stoning Henry.

Packers offense scored 10 points is an abomination. Rogers loses at home back to back years in playoffs.

Bills defense was cheeks late, giving Chiefs too much room to get in FG range.

I certainly see that. Getting the coordinators right is everything. I wouldn't worry about a high school prospect for 5 minutes this cycle. Attrition with the current players hasn't even begun yet, so a lot of fat on the bones with Manny's program that's gonna need cut off.
