Once TRob left I thought a Mason + Etheridge duo would more than cover that loss. But honestly I don't know much about him as a coach. I just remember that nasty hit he took against Ole Miss back in the day and know he's been an elite recruiter these last 3ish years.

Read on 247 or On3 Auburn message board by one of their writers. Sure sounds like Harsin runs a tight ship and has been friction among the defensive staff and Harsin.

I don’t know why this is weird. Have none of you ever interviewed for a job? By the time you get an official offer you have basically agreed to terms and accepted the job. The offer is a formality. If Mario spends 5 hours interviewing these candidates and discussing salary than it’s very likely that they have agreed before that official offer is given.

Never. My full-time job is board instigator to maintain balance and I wasn’t even interviewed, or offered, I just took the job.

The concept isn’t the weird part, it’s the strong (and poorly worded) effort by Ferman (and others) to deflect whether or not Candle turned down an offer from Mario…

People have moved on… so it’s not Candle, **** it, get someone good…

Yeah, he's gone for sure.

Still no OC or DC. Briles is out too, he was never offered but he and his agent said they were to get more money from Arkansas (which worked). Not really sure what's next at OC.

DC appears Belk must be the guy as Mason is almost certainly going to Oklahoma State (yes, seriously). Belk, however, is getting a lot of interest from Notre Dame and other schools so not sure it's a done deal. Hopefully, Mario finally pulls the ******* trigger if that's his guy.

I’ve said I’m 85% it’s Belk in some private DMs. I just heard nothing on Mason to Miami plus the OK ST rumors now, got some wind of some guys interviewing as a LB coach and no play-calling duties.. Belk was the only one that made sense to me

I’m not gonna say it’s him with certainty but putting the pieces together definitely seems like it’s him.

The hold up would be either - it’s not him or he’s waiting on final offers from us and ND to choose.
