Former Miramar HC Damon Cogdell is the new Assistant HC/Defensive Coordinator at Carol City. Cogdell was at West Virginia the last few years as assistant. Powerful staff over at CC now with Aubrey Hill as HC.

Cogdell built a monster at Miramar. Did Hologram fire him because he didn't deliver enough S. Florida players to WVU?
 
Is he not good enough for College? You would hope that going from HS HC to College assistant was him getting promoted. But dropping back down to HS ***. HC/DC is definitely a down grade. Is it a similar situation to Ice Harris?

Well, Cogdell had Ryan Williams, Tracy Howard, Malcolm Lewis, and Jermaine Grace all at Miami.

Hill doesn't steer away despite what some may think because he's a Gator alum.

As for Cogdell, what Pete said. Also, back then Miami didn't pursue Geno Smith hard enough.
 
Maybe he was just tired of that back woods town and wanted back to south Florida!

Coaching was our problem not him or Aubrey
 
Usually you would assume that a alum from any school would push their kids to their schools but Hill hasn't shown any aligiance bias in his time at carol city. I've never met cogdell but the people that have speak very highly of him, I don't see this as anything but carol city getting ready to come back into the forefront of HS football. They've always had some good talent in the area but with so many school in close proximity they've had to share alot of the talent from the area.

That is the impression I get.
The positions he was coaching at WVU weren't stellar, and he was not able to deliver soFla talent, so he became expendable.

I went to Miramar, had Cogdell as a PE teacher and knew mad players who played with him for years and he NEVER steered kids away from UM. **** if it wasn't for Shannon even more Miramar kids would've came here

How quickly people forget about 2010 WR Ivan McCartney from Mirmar. Ryan Williams went to Memphis then transferred home to Miami. Tracy Howard was UF bound until the last minute he had a change of heart and wanted to stay closer to his mom. Don't kid yourselves Tracy Howard was delivered by Malcolm Lewis and then howard delivered Grace to Miami. They were childhood friends.

So all those kids that chose WVU over offers from UM ( if they had offers), decided to go to school were they barely graduate kids and the ones that did got degrees from a School people laugh at academically rather than attend a Top40 school in Miami. Do you think he bashed Miami to the common PE student or in private where the money hand shakes and job offers took place. Come on now don't be naive.

I am just hoping UM gets more than fair treatment by these coaches since UM is the home team.

There goes Paraboycane listening to the twisted voices in his head again. Cogdell is far from biased against UM.

Literally the only kid UM really wanted that they ddidn't get from Miramar was Cole and only because they cooled off due to his troubles
 
Cogdell was actually pro um. As mosdt of the staff at Miramar.

This move just locks down the Carol City area completely...an area that is loaded and an area where Carol City has kept their kids the last two seasons....

Prepare for a juggernaut program....all they have to do is run the ball....Cogdell will have the defense right.....not sure maybe he was ready to come back or wvu got an upgrade at dl coach...
Cogdell produced enough kids for wvu...from miramar alone...

This dude Paranos has no clue.

Other interesting coaching news:

As already was expected....Devin Bush from Flanagan..was hired by Michigan.

The delivery was definate when his son committed to Michigan. Bush delivered 3 players..and got himself a gig....an easy come up..he is listed as a defensive Analyst.
 
Which is the same thing Cogdell did to get the job at WVU, but I have no clue. Get outta here with that I have no clue, you know how these quid pro quo deals work. Hopefully as I said Cogdell and Hill are now on board 110% with the hometown Canes.

So let's all agree to disagree about the these two and watch how things play out moving foward between Carol City HS and UM. Hopefully we will all be pleased with what is to come.
