Haven’t seen the video but you’re right. All of the negative attention and kissing up/malfeance starts when these kids are in pop league. By the time they are in HS, they are already well versed in getting taken advantage of and being surrounded by hanger ons that are only there to leech. I can’t blame the kids too much for growing up like that. Sad!

He was basically talking about a conversation he was having with a parent about a kid potentially joining his youth football team. And at the end of the conversation the parent ask him how much is he willing to pay because coaches at other parks are offering 3500 to 5k for his kid. He told the father he don't pay for kids and that was the end of it but he came to Facebook to get ppl opinion on the subject.

Yeah that's why they try to makes these all star teams so they can gamble on the game it's sad. I'm not gonna lie I played on a team like that when I was young but I was ignorent to what was going on at the time.

And transferring from high school to high school. At least here in Virginia you have to transfer out of district for the academic specialty not for athletics.

Probably explains why Central Boys Club was always stacked when I played them in Optimist a hundred thousand years ago. We held our own but they were something. We'd go to Cutler Ridge and there would be 500 plus in the stands for a 135 pound game. Crazy.

Yeah I think we need to stop getting angry with these kids when they take that bag it's the parents that's the driving force behind that.

Yep. We’re out here just trying to get kids noticed, get kids scholorships so they can be set for life, but most importantly, to mold them to be men. Then you have the coaches who are only in it for the money/glory. They pay for kids off other teams then profit off of them. There’s nothing you can do but beat the living breaks off them when we play them.

Unbelievable. When I played for PPO in the late 60's and early 70's, we were excited to have 200 in the stands. Even at the league championship, there were ONLY 300-400. My guys and I never contemplated leaving for another team. I basically played with the same 20-30 guys for 7 years.

Yep. Same with basketball, rolled with the same teams from middle school to our senior year, give or take a few. But that was before AAU was big
And sponsored by Nike, adidas, and UA, now these teams just poach any players that are halfway decent with promises of free gear and trips, and half those players never even play. Similar to Alabama, they just stack talent and half the kids never play or get noticed, when they could star on another team and at the very least get a small school scholarship offer. It drives me nuts but the kids parents don’t want to hear it. They let 12 year olds make decisions because they’re “men”. I don’t know about y’all, but I don’t know any 12 year olds that know what’s best for them. Lol
