MIAMI DADEGeta,
This would be a question for you, LCE and a few other cats here:
Let's say all these kids were attending their neighborhood public schools (and all the teams had roughly the same levels of coaching, structure, facilities, etc.)
Year in and year out, who would be the Top 5 teams in Broward and Top 5 in Dade?
MIAMI DADE
MNW
CENTRAL
Carol City
BTW
Southridge
BROWARD
Dillard
Plantation
Ely
Mcarthur
Miramar
The beauty about South Florida in it's prime was that any given year there'd be like 8-10 teams capable of playoff runs.Geta,

Dade:
M[BGCOLOR=initial]NW, C[/BGCOLOR][BGCOLOR=initial]entral, C[/BGCOLOR][BGCOLOR=initial]arol City, S[/BGCOLOR][BGCOLOR=initial]outhridge, Killian[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]Honorable mention:[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]BTW (demographic change has hurt them), Homestead, South Dade, Norland, Coral Gables (demographic change has hurt them), Jackson (that area is 90% Central American now though)[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]Broward:[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]Miramar, Dillard, Ely, Deerfield, Plantation[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]Honorable mention:[/BGCOLOR]
[BGCOLOR=initial]McArthur, Boyd Anderson, Hallandale, Piper (on the lowest of keys), maybe Monarch, Northeast or Western lowkey [/BGCOLOR]
No but Centralfication is. They’ve been pillaging rosters since Telly was in charge.Is gentrification hitting Overtown and forcing families to leave?
Gentrification as well. Pop Warner feeders were important. But these kid start out as mercenaries, so it doesn’t matter like it used too.Is gentrification hitting Overtown and forcing families to leave?
60% of historic "Overtown" is gentrified & 25% got absorbed into greater Little Havana, demographic wise. BTW right now is under 40% black, which I NEVERRRRR thought I'd see [BGCOLOR=initial]that day.[/BGCOLOR][BGCOLOR=initial] I work in the area. Hallandale...wouldnt be as good as Mcarthur talent wise.Norland, Homestead, Jackson and Edison honorable mentions in Dade?
Boyd Anderson and Hallandale HM in Broward?
Those were schools I figured could have something if they had good coaching and kept their talent home
