So what if we lost lingard AND....

Lorenzo Lingard isn’t a dime a dozen RB... the RBs we currently have on the roster are. Not saying Lo is going to be the next great but his talent level is on another level.

Always was a freak athlete...But always looked like more athlete than RB.

I think there was always bust risk here, but obviously he was always worth it. No idea what happened during his stay here. I may have missed it on the board. How'd he get so far in the dog house?

It’s not on another level from Chaney and knighton. On another level from cam? Probably

I don't know how anyone can even say this. Cam has running back instincts...Is Lingard a freak? Yes. Has he ever made a guy miss in all that high school tape or even on practice field here.

Don't get me wrong, he is a talent and we needed what we thought he brougt immensely. The comparison for him was Todd Gurley, but he better get to it quickly. The kid basically put his head down and ran in high school

what talent? What did he show you at Miami that makes you believe we are losing a great talent?

Yeah, 5 star RBs are a dime a dozen. Lol. I swear, I think some of these people got lost on their way to the Alabama message boards. This is the Miami Hurricanes forum, guys. You know, the ones who went 6-7; losing to FIU and being shut out by Louisiana Tech along the way. We can't afford to be so cavalier about not playing, and then losing a 5 star talent.

This kid was pursued by Clemson, Ohio State, Georgia,Texas, Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, etc.,... are they all stupid too? Sorry, but our staph has done nothing to earn the benefit of the doubt on this one. If Lingard was really the problem, don't you think that Manny & Co. would be leaking the info everywhere in order to clear their reputations? But EVERYONE is completely dumbfounded by the situation. And as far as elusiveness goes, it's nice to have, but this isnt the pros. Homerun speed will get you by in college. All it takes is a small crease to take it to the house.

247 also didn't have him as a 5 star in a really weak class for RBs. The kid is very talented, but he definitely had/has flaws and wasn't a surefire star at the next level. Most years he wouldn't be a top 5 RB tbh.

Act like we loss Duke after his soph year to the portal 🤣

Unless someone has film and a direct ear to the situation I simply believe his confidence was shot and needs new scenery. As fans we can loose our noodle when someone we aren’t going to utilize transfers. Stars don’t matter if they don’t transfer to the field and for WHATEVER reason that didn’t happen we are at this result. What about reports of him asking Manny to redshirt again. Did we just bypass that or was it even true?

if I trusted the staff and their ability to put the best players on the field and make them successful, I wouldn’t be ****ed about Lingard leaving. But I don’t trust our staff or their evaluations and judgement in these situations. I think they screwed the pooch with Lingard. Maybe not, but Who can have faith in them with the way the season went and the decisions that have been made over the course of the last year?

I think Chaney and Knighton would have passed up Lingard, here. Not because he lacks talent but because they're both fantastic prospects and better overall running backs.

Hope I'm right (watch him go to UF and run for 1500 yards next year).

Lingard was favoring leg, and had a big brace on in fall camp according to reports.

he wasn’t cleared until a few games into the season to actually play.

now just because you’re medically cleared doesn’t mean you are 100% mentally in terms of coming back from a leg injury as a RB.

I think Lo should’ve waited to see who the new OC is, but oh well.

Man I'm sorry with the OLine Miami had this season, we could've had Gurley and Zek in our back field and they would've look like trash..

I can't speak on production from a RB because of the OLine, Lingard was expected to be the next best UM RB, but injuries hurt him and DJ and Cam showed progress.. Don't know IF Lingard was the better of the group, BUT I know for a fact IF UM had a better OLine DJ and Cam was capable of having really good seasons..

Lingard right now to me is a toss up, IF he leaves we will see IF the hype was real or not..

I’m sure the real story will eventually come out.

But having 3 OCs and 3 rb coaches probably didn’t help.

Patchan started over Greg... when reports were he was healthy.
Cager couldnt catch, Cancer, ect - goes on to be Georgia's go to guy

If you honestly believe that Cam was better than linguard, or he couldnt grasp the playbook.. you my friend probably still believe in santa.

Cager had a pedestrian season at UGA.

I kind of agree with OP.

Listen, I liked Lingard a lot...but RB is dead last in value when it comes to offensive players. NFL values them less than kickers at this point (look at avg. NFL salary) by position...I believe its dead last outside of Long-Snapper. In college football, if you fall behind due to injury or you're slow on the uptick, you're just quickly replaced.

Again, I like him a lot as a player, but Cam Harris, Don Chaney, and Jaylen Knighton will be just fine going into next year if we get an offensive coordinator worth a ****.
