VT had timeouts anyways so it really wouldnt have mattered. the thing is VT didnt even use their timeouts bc their coach is a moron. they went home with a timeout left when they should have had at least another shot at the endzone at the end of the game. pry was so worried about us getting the ball back with time that he forgot clock management.

I know it's a delicate balance because we needed a TD to win but I would have advocated to burn a little more time before scoring. We haven't been stopped on 3rd or 4th and short yet and have a strong OL, workhorse RB, and cam who we can trust to run or throw the ball in a must win situation. We could have at the very least forced them to burn one time out. I'd feel very confident with 3 attempts from the 1 yard line or even 2 attempts then kick the field goal if needed.

Both VT and the Canes definitely used all their timeouts, and they both used the last timeout with 3 seconds remaining at the UM 30 yard line. I recall that when the Canes called that last timeout before the last play, it happened just as VT was about to commit an illegal procedure penalty. Had the Canes not called that last time out, the game would have ended on that penalty because VT had no timeouts remaining and there is a mandatory ten second runoff without a timeout.

Arroyo and Williams should be featured because I don't think the LBs can match up with them (especially Arroyo) and they will be open. And Dawson needs to stop calling run plays up the *** of the center.

I can't believe Brent Pry hasn't had a statue made for his induction into the corching hall of fame. He was flat out awful. Like middle school level blunders as it applies to time out usage, clock management and overall game awareness. I don't remember exacltly the circumstances, but I believe they used their second timeout after letting like 20 extra seconds run off the clock after we went ahead. Again, the details escape me, but Good lord there was a ton of mishaps like that.

You're correct. It was clearly not a TD. He didn't get the ball inside the pylon, it was in his outside arm and he got bumped out before the goal line.

I'm sure the replay office looked at it but there isn't a camera at the goal line at all times, so there was no way it was getting overturned. Worked out, too. Took a couple more seconds off the clock which clearly benefitted us.

I honestly was in such a PTSD state I wondered if we should kneel twice on first and second before scoring on third or maybe 4tb if needed. Yes I am broken by my past experiences as a fan.
