Said this in the game thread but I was surprised they threw it on 3rd down when Bell got called for a **** holding call. I figured they’d run it with Martinez and bring in 4 tight ends and it would be 4 down territory.

Then on the go ahead td I was again surprised they threw it. They ran that same play last year against A&M and it worked. I think it was with Colbie Young….you know the 6’3-6’4 guy on Georgia who plays like he’s 3’6.

Dive to 6" line and force VT to use TO. Then either dive again to force their last TO and use last 2 plays to score (could have tied with FG).

VT never would have gotten close to hail mary at end.

I wanted Mario to kneel it in victory formation at that point almost more than I wanted him to do it vs Ga Tech last year.

I thought he was in too at first, but if I recall correctly, the ball was in his outside hand and when he went into the endzone he didn't extend inside of the pylon, so ruled out at the one.

I could be wrong though.

Correct in this situation, runner does not get goal line extended. Ball gets placed where it crosses the sideline

Maybe I'm missing something but he was cut down. The tackler didn't take him head up. Barring him hurdling dude, he was going to be short.

Why wasn't that reviewed for a possible touchdown? To my biased self, that ball looked like it crossed the line before his foot touched out of bounds. Someone was standing in the way to be sure, but not even reviewed? I thought scoring plays were reviewed.
