So, tell me about Princeton

Here is some more 80-year-old (or so) stuff. Long, long ago, in a place that was freezing, freezing cold in the winter, Princeton had a coach named Butch van Breda Kolff. He recruited some very good players, including Bill Bradley (NBA Hall of Fame), Geoff Petrie (NBA co-rookie of the year in 1971), John Hummer (cup of coffee with the Boston Celtics) and a bunch of guys who made All-Ivy-League. They went to the final four in 1965 and climbed up the AP poll to #6 in 1967.

Van Breda Kolff left to coach the Los Angeles Lakers. He then left the Lakers, reportedly because he couldn't get along with Wilt Chamberlain. Van Breda Kolff's successor at Princeton, Pete Carril, had some success, winning 13 Ivy League titles, but the program never again attained elite status.
