I realize why we lost to Virginia. I didn't write, "So, tell me about #11 UVA." We will beat Clemson on Saturday...or someone else can start these threads.

good defensive team, that has shot the 3 better this year. They are a tough bunch, 3-1 in acc play. Their only loss was to UNC, and they were pretty competitive in Chapel Hill. Tough road game for Miami.

Hopefully the team reacts to the loss well. This is gonna be a hostile road environment. I remember back in the 12-13 year they really gave us a run for our money in their house. It wasn't until a Kenny Kadji dagger 3 that sealed the game with a minute left.

Exactly. Just became a VERY important game. Beat Clemson away will now count for something. ACC the best in bball.

Jesus, now I'm worried. This team is 4-1 in the ACC with wins over Duke, Louisville, FSU and Syracuse (on the road). Only loss was to UNC.

I do believe we could have won the last game at UVA. Although, it is understandable to not get the win in the grand scheme of things. We're moving on and next up is Clemson. Clemson is a weird team, I don't think they're particularly good but they have beaten Duke and UL back to back. They won 4 straight, but they're 4-3 in their last 7 and 6-4 in their last 10. This is an important game for us because we need to stop the bleeding and right the ship. Overall we haven't been playing well, especially in the first half, but now we enter the normal basketball schedule so maybe that will help.

Clemson is 11-6 (4-1)

RPI is 102nd
BPI is 77th

Who have they played?

Wins:

NC Central 7-11
Texas SA 3-12
Texas So. 4-11
Rutgers 6-12
SC Upstate 7-11
Wofford 6-10
Presbyterian 7-9
FSU 11-5
@ Cuse 11-7
UL 13-3 (#21)
Duke 14-3 (#9)

Losses:

UMass (by 17) 8-8
@ Minn 6-11
Alabama 10-5
S. Carolina 15-1 (#19)
@ UGA (by 23) 9-5
@ UNC 15-2 (#5)

Players to Watch:

Jaron Blossomgame: 15.5 PPG. 7.0 RPG, 1.4 APG and 1.6 SPG
Avry Holmes: 10.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG and 2.8 APG
Donte Grantham: 10.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG and 2.3 APG

Interesting Tidbits:

- Luck v. Skill? Their last 3 wins were won by 5 or less points.

Cuse (lost by 1): 24-62 FG, 13-34 3PT and 12-19 FTs
UL (lost by 4): 24-68 FG, 3-23 3PT and 11-16 FTs [Clemson had 44 FTs this game]
Duke (lost by 5): 25-51 FG, 11-25 and 2-7 FTs

Above Combined: 73-181 (40.3% FG), 27-82 (32.9% 3PT) and 25-42 (60.0% FTs)

These are pretty crappy numbers. Sure teams can have an off night, but these teams are shooting 60% from the FT Line.

Clemson on the other hand, shoots 70.9% from the line for the season (125th)

During these 3 games: 10-11, 32-44 and 12-13 or 54-68 (79%)

- Clemson scores 69.5 PPG (257th) and allows 62.2 (15th)

- Coming out strong, can we do it?

Last four games we scored: 23, 24, 17 and 27 in the first half or 22.8 Points in the First Half.
Last four games we scored: 35, 40, 47 and 49 in the second half or 42.8 Points int he Second Half.

I'm actually concerned about this game, Clemson has been on a real hot streak in the ACC to start.

We need a good bounce back game after we looked flat against Virginia - I think the boys come out ready to redeem.
