Maybe years ago but with the early NSD, Portal, and players skipping bowl games it’s not going to affect us unless we lose.

If this was year 5 of Mario’s tenure. I would agree. But year 2. This is an important window for Mario and company. A win isn’t going to be the difference with most 2024 kids but it will help with 2025 recruits perception of the program throughout the offseason.

Plus it will help with the culture and buy in into what Mario is selling by the kids already in the program.

The book on Miami right now is that they can’t win bowl games or a big game. This is the first step is changing that narrative. Not a big one, but an important one.

It’s beyond the game. It’s perception. A win helps you sell the program in the short term.

By that logic Miami could lose by 50 to Rutgers and recruits won’t care.

If kids are interested in Miami they and their families will be watching.

We had kids go to the Bethune game.

They want to see how we look.

Again, if we lose by 30, do you really think that won’t hurt Miami?
