Maybe Carter has been putting work in. Most, if not all these kids get on the program before they enroll.

This. I am fairly confident the moment the ink is dry on their papers they are given a workout and diet routine. Some of these guys have been going at it on the weights since Feb. at least.

So jamal enrolled a few months ago 1t 191 and now he's 207? So he gained 16 pounds in 2 months? Really?

His weight has always fluctuated. He was at 215 last summer before he dropped a lot of it before his season. He weighed in at 205 when he first stepped on campus in May
 
You gotta think about it. A lot of these kids, when in HS, either don't have access to a weight room/program or just aren't made to use them. They get back in HS by natural abilities. You take someone with good genetics, drive, and something to prove and give them 2 months in a solid program with access to all kinds of weights and foods.... They can gain 16 lbs in 2 months. It is not far fetched.

I put on 10 pounds of good weight in 2 months during the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college just following the workout program and eating right (and a lot). And I promise you that I was already much closer to my physical ceiling at the start of the summer than Jamal Carter is currently.
 
A lot of these kids don't have access to a weight room/program. You take someone with good genetics, drive, and something to prove and give them 2 months in a solid program with access to all kinds of weights and foods...

Nutrition alone makes all the difference in the world..
 
Don't forget who Carter's coach was. Carter was going to be in shape whether he liked it or not.

Jamal Carter is a BIG freaking kid, as a senior the weight he put on and how quickly I thought he could be en route to LB. Not surprised at 207. Thats actually lighter than I would have thought. I wouldnt even blink if they said he was 220 now. Its good to seem him lighter tho, because with the extra weight it hurts his athleticism



Also whats wrong with Duke's weight?

I believe Solly was someone who has coached this kid and stated that his upside is rediculous, seems like the kind of athlete that can stay at at safety at 220lbs.
 
I went from 190 to 215 this off season, just doing my part. Its pretty much all fat but who cares.
